Lumanti took her camera out after almost a year. She didn't dare open any photos stored in that camera for a whole year, for she feared that her own memories may seem strange to her but even today, after remembering everything she didn't want to open those photos and videos because this time, she fears what those memories hold and how it might crumble her. That was the last thing she wanted to do especially today, as it was a very special day for Rianne. Aaron hadn't call her since past two days and she hadn't called him as well. When Rianne asked her what happened after talking to him, she just told her that he was talking with his parents and will call her once things are sorted out. Lumanti pretended to be very happy and ecstatic when in reality so much was going on her head.
"Argh, Ri. It is not about me, its about you. we need to pull this off ok. I am so excited, don't ruin this." She chimed.
Rianne was reluctant at first that she even wanted to postpone but Lumanti turned it around making her believe things were finally getting better.
There was a bit of a change in plan so instead of Rianne, Lumanti called Sara. Sara picked up the call as she was clocking herself out from her shift, "Hi, Ray, whats up? How are you?"
"I am fine but Rianne doesn't seem to be. Is your shift over?", Lumanti replied.
"Ya, it just ended. Why? What's wrong? I am coming over, where are you guys?" her voice was suddenly filled with concern and worry.
"I don't know she is not feeling well, so I brought her here to the hospital but she just refuses to go inside the hospital. I think she will only hear what you have to say, Can you please come outside and have a look, once?"
"I know how she can be sometimes. She hates hospital, wait, you guys are outside, why didn't you take her to closest one by our house. I am coming, wait."
"We are nearby at the park."
"Ok, I will be there soon." She rushed outside without any further questions.
Lumanti hurriedly hid behind a big tree while Rianne sat on the bench looking at the ground and her black pointed shoes. Rianne was wearing black pants, knitted long coat and white shirt underneath.
Sara was almost running towards the park in her navy blue nurse's uniform when she saw Rianne sitting on the bench. She touched Rianne's shoulder and asked with deep concern in her voice, "Hey what's wrong, Ray told me you were not feeling well. Is everything alright?"
"No, I am not because I have been trying to tell you something since last week," Rianne responded to her question.
"What? What do you mean?" Sara's face was utterly confused by Rianne's words.
"I am sorry to bring you out and worry you like this but I knew your shift was going to be over soon and it had to be this same spot," said Rianne tucking the loose hair of Sara's behind her ear.
"What same spot?"
"It is the same spot I fell in love with you. You hugged me and told me that everything will be alright. You were just being nice friend then, but I was head over heels for you already before you knew about it."
Sara was flustered by those words but she was still looking at her with eyes asking for further explanation. Lumanti was capturing the moment from her hiding spot. She also managed to planted a small Go Pro earlier nearby the bench to capture the whole moment.
Rianne took out a small box from her coat pocket and was now on the ground on her one knee and said, "Sara Fey, I wanted to ask you if you would do the honor of marrying me and be the partner of my life and spend the rest of yours with me?"
The diamond ring was out on display while Sara's face was red but her eyes were watering up and filled with joys. Her face had already given the answer but Rianne was dying for her lips to confirm it. Bystanders gasped and cheered at the scene and both lovers looked at each other with awe and love in their eyes. Lumanti was crying and now out from her hiding spot taking the video.
Sara, after few seconds, that felt like eternity for Rianne, said, "Oh my god!! Are you sure?"
"Of course, I am." Rianne looked at her nervously waiting for her answer.
"Yes, Yes, A hundred times yes, I will marry you. Oh my god!" She was almost jumping now in excitement. Rianne slid the ring into her finger and they kissed each other and hugged each other tightly, then Lumanti hugged each of them and congratulated them, "I am so happy for you guys. Aww I love you both so much." They thanked her and as they were talking Lumanti drifted away in her thoughts.
Rianne brought her back, "Ray, Ray, I think your phone is ringing."
"Oh yes, gosh! I have to take this."
While Lumanti was very happy for her best friend, there was no denial that there was a tinge of jealousy underneath the surface, but happiness won that one over. As she was looking at two lovebirds in that warm afternoon, she slid across her phone to answer the call. The call was short but right after that her phone rang again, this time it was Aaron's.
She picked up the call and said in a coarse voice, "Hello."
"Hi, T. Is everything alright?"
"Huh? Yes, yes, Rianne just proposed to Sara. They are now engaged."
"Wow, that's great. That's amazing." His voice seemed like he was trying to convince himself that he was happy for them.
"I know right, so what is it about? How are things there?"
"Yeah about that, I have talked with my parents."
"So have I."
