Cen Si Miao thought a fight would break out.
Lowering her head, she slightly shivered, unsure of what to do. Her larynx bobbed, and she turned her head to avoid Wu Li Chen’s gaze.
Almost inaudibly, she said, “Let go of me. Why don’t you leave first, ok?”
Wu Li Chen leaned forward with his eyebrows crinkled to stare at Cen Si Miao. It was the first time he’d ever seen her behave in this manner. Sitting back once more, he took a look at the car in front of them.
Pursing his lips, Wu Li Chen said, “Do you regret asking me to come here?”
Pursing his lips, he said, “Do you regret asking me to come here?”
Gritting her teeth, Cen Si Miao kept quiet. She appeared especially uncomfortable in Wu Li Chen’s eyes. It was as though her heart was clogged, and her usually cold and haughty demeanor was nowhere to be seen.
Wu Li Chen’s expression was dark as he stared at Cen Si Miao. Suddenly, she moved to leave the car but was immediately dragged back into Wu Li Chen’s embrace.
“Let go of me! Are you done yet?” she said, annoyed.
Wu Li Chen sneered, “Make me.”
Roughly, Cen Si Miao attempted to shove him off.
Suddenly, her body was pulled back into Wu Li Chen’s embrace. Straightening his back, Wu Li Chen leaned back on the driver’s seat with Cen Si Miao sitting on his lap.
Wu Li Chen rested his chin on her shoulder, causing his voice to become muffled. With both of his hands, he gripped the steering wheel, entrapping Cen Si Miao.
As Wu Li Chen stepped on the gas pedal, the girl in his arms continued her fierce struggle. Lowly, he let out a sigh. “Don’t make trouble.”
The car lurched forward, and in just two seconds, they had approached the vehicle that was seated in front of them. Slowly, Wu Li Chen rolled down the car window and peered at Hu Yinli, whose expression was ashen. Hu Yinli climbed out of the back seat to start driving.
Hu Yinli and Wu Li Chen’s gazes met.
Turning his gaze away, Wu Li Chen stepped on the gas pedal and rapidly accelerated. Narrowing his eyes, he said softly, “His looks are pretty mediocre.”
Hu Yinli’s expression was dark as he grabbed the keys to start his car. Angrily, he repeatedly attempted to jam his car keys into the keyhole, but his efforts were futile. The shadow of Wu Li Chen’s car had already disappeared from sight. Hu Yinli’s hands trembled ferociously, making him struggle to do anything. His eyes hardened, and his chest filled with rage. Suddenly, Hu Yinli threw his car keys down and slammed the steering wheel.
For the next two days, Cen Si Miao holed up in Wu Li Chen’s rental home.
She hid in her room, neither eating nor drinking.
Wu Li Chen routinely knocked on Cen Si Miao’s door, urging her to come out, but she always refused. Carrying a plate of freshly made food, Wu Li Chen knocked on the door with his elbow.
“It’s your favorite food. Do you want to eat it?”
Cen Si Miao chewed on the potato chip, which she received from the system, in her mouth.
Cen Si Miao had exchanged her last mission’s reward, which was said to be of great value, for food. Currently, she could smell the savory scent of food that wafted in from outside her door.
But, ignoring it, she lowered her head and continued to eat potato chips.
Wu Li Chen put the food on the table and picked up his phone to look at the date. He moved the chair that blocked the cabinet door and kneeled. Racking his head, he thought of a method to enter her room to deliver things, and in the end, brought out a hammer from the cabinet.
