It was dim inside the fitting room, and the scant light that managed to come in around the door landed on fair skin. An Zeru embraced the person in his arms as his eyes gradually darkened. Cen Simiao also became short of breath; her voice entered his ears, teasing his body to become hot.
And he kissed her with even greater strength.
Cen Simiao was a little out of breath and gave a slight struggle before turning to her head as she felt that he wanted to come closer again. She stretched out her hand, placing it against his chest to stop him, then while looking at him with her eyes full of charm, she whisperingly asked, “Just how long have you held back to have kissed so relentlessly?”
She glanced at her arm. Her skin was originally delicate, and so with the strength of An Zeru’s hand, there was already a ring of red.
An Zeru lowered his eyelashes and immediately let go of his hand. But before she could give her arm a flex, he grasped her again. His palm was broad and thick with well-defined joints, and while his skin tone could not be considered fair, it formed a clear contrast with Cen Simiao’s.
He gave a “tch” as he stared at that reddened ring. “Really so delicate.”
Yet he still helped her gently rub it.
But Cen Simiao threw him off and turned to look at herself in the mirror instead, then reached out to straightened her hair and to smooth out the wrinkles on her clothes before she made the appearance to push open the door.
An Zeru didn’t stop her and just leaned against the wall. His lashes were lowered as he yawned, and only when he heard the sound of the lock did he lazily ask, “Are you really not afraid that I would go and sell you out?”
Cen Simiao stopped her movements and raised her head to stare at him. Then suddenly, she walked a few steps back towards him and gently placed her hands on his shoulders. “And how do you plan to sell me out?”
Fingertips slid across his chest, and with a slight force, his collar was pulled. An Zeru’s chin lowered, and she leaned over with the corners of her lips hooked into a smile. Then she gently placed a kiss on his Adam’s apple. “I look forward to that day.”
She turned and left. And the door closed again.
A while later, An Zeru lowered his head and scoffed. Touching his neck, he rubbed off the traces of lipstick that she had left. He raised his eyes and saw the man in the mirror. His hands stopped and his eyes narrowed.
He had tried rubbing at the lipstick on his Adam’s apple, so the edge was already smudged.
He straightened up and pushed the door to get out.
Gu Yu had already came back from buying the coffee and was currently standing with Cen Simiao with drooped brows wearing that smile of his that never changes. The two were talking to each other, seemingly particularly happy together.
An Zeru raised his eyebrows and openly walked over. Gu Yu felt the movement and subconsciously looked up. Seeing that the other came from the fitting room in the back, he felt that something didn’t seem quite right.
“I also bought you a cup. I hadn’t seen you earlier, I even thought you had already left.”
An Zeru gave a short laugh, then smoothly received the coffee and lifted the lid to take in the aroma. “Hmm, quite bitter. I really don’t understand how people think… Given there’s a sweeter option, they won’t drink it but just have to go for the bitter…”
His eyes curved into a smile as he looked at Cen Simiao. “Don’t you think so?”
Cen Simiao glanced at him. “Children all like sweets.”
An Zeru only answered with a “tch.”
Gu Yu’s eyelashes lowered, such that the emotions within could be seen, then said something in a low voice, but no one responded. Coincidentally, the salesperson, who was near him, happened to come over to delivered the packaged clothes and politely reminded him that it was time to check out.
That was the piece that Cen Simiao had just taken into the fitting room, which she didn’t have the chance to try on at all.
An Zeru narrowed his eyes, grabbed the bag, and went to pay. When he came back, he smiled, grabbed Cen Simiao, turned his head towards Gu Yu, and said, “I have an urgent matter with her, we’ll leave first.”
When Gu Yu raised his eyes, he suddenly glimpsed the red marks on his Adam’s apple. His eyes dilated, and he rushed to the entrance of the shopping mall. By that time, he could only see the backs of two people riding away on the motorcycle.
It rained particularly heavily.
Cen Simiao was wearing a raincoat. Hearing the bean-sized raindrops falling by her ears as the wind blew across her cheek, she reached out to hug her arms around An Zeru’s strong waist, which felt as nice as she had imagined.
A warmth that was separated by just a thin fabric, which had already been soaked through by the rain.
Laying close to his back, she closed her eyes and actually felt a bit sleepy. An Zeru drove her and arrived at the door of her house. Cen Simiao yawned as she got down from behind him. He was already soaked all over. He tilted his head and whistled, “Quickly go back and take a bath.”
Cen Simiao had wanted to return him the raincoat once she got back home, but he only frowned and scoffed. He raised his arm to pull off his T-shirt and rolled it up, showing off his strong abdominal muscles.
He started the motorcycle again. The sound of the engine mixed with the rain was deafening, but his voice was clear and still carrying its usual cynicism, “Useless worry.”
Translator has something to say:
I think some of the readers may have noticed that the writing of this novel… Doesn’t quite seem like a novel. There really isn’t a consistent and smooth transition… Anywhere? But I think… If you can just imagine this as a script for a manga, it might help.
XD Oh, and have I mentioned, I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when I said yes to translating this title? So I will “no comment” on these characters and arcs… They’re kind of embarrassing.
