Just like around a year ago, she had different faces surrounding her by the courtyard. The after exam exhausted faces, the familiar laughs echoes around during breaks... Now with her closest friends; with Seventeen and Bangtan-- Raine, Sierra and the others about their past fights as well... Gosh, the parallels on that. How immature Lumi can be, too, back then when they're first starting out.

It's fun to look back. Especially on how different things are now.

Wah, it didn't even occur to her that it is the same as how it used to be with her former friends. The start of her second year was filled with smiles, there's no lie in that. She found belongingness at some point with them...

It's all left painted into yesterday huh.

And there are times that you can still be at peace without knowing the other side of the picture.

The late Spring air is as crisp as the feeling they're going through. The other side untold as Jihoon's feelings, too.

Speaking of the other side, across the fields of the courtyard, there goes Soonyoung laying down by the trees. He just saw Lumi and Jihoon interacting, having a slight conversation. From their expressions alone, it's evident that there's confusion and pain alike. 'Cause it's clear to the girl that Jihoon is avoiding her.

The hurt in their exchange just made her force a smile as he's trying to give her space.

The sight made Soonyoung wince, seeing Jihoon walk towards him, he quietly lays beside him.

Hitting him by the arm, it made the least of the Slytherin's blood spike up. "What's that about Jihoonie?"

"Oh, just a bit about the publication, as usual." The monotone and avoidance of eye contact from Jihoon made the other male pull his mouth to the side. "As usual..."

More like will not be usual at this point.

Soonyoung's slit eyes remain on the other, before releasing slight tang on his lips. "What made you finally realize your feelings for Lumi?"

The pause of the other sent him into a quiet void.

"A bit too late, no?" He can't help but sigh.

On how Jihoon's eyes lit up the moment after, his words by comparison felt heavy. "Perhaps since that day that she started changing I guess. I don't ever want to see her that sad. And that pulled a trigger in me that I want nothing better than to see her smile."

"Nothing better than Lumi's smile." Soonyoung repeats, taking out every bit of it's meaning for Jihoon. "Even if the reason won't be you."

Jihoon nods at that, defeated. "I will be her sadness for now."

Soonyoung could only resonate the same silence as he felt that sense of care and melancholy from the other.

Looking at their friends from afar, it felt like a rush. The second term is about to end as well. And it feels like the wind is bracing itself into another route for them to take.

"Both of you can't seem to smile together though." Soonyoung says at the apparent atmosphere of the two 'friends'.

It put Jihoon in this familiar confusion, though this time he's much more held on by his own stand. He feels bad for the younger, but this is just temporary. He wants to settle things with himself first.

With the help of Soonyoung, he served as a guide to sort out his thoughts.

"You're doing the right thing, Jihoon-ah." He assured him, as from Jihoon's deep gaze, it's noticeable he feels guilt from distancing himself. As Jihoon's friend, he doesn't really feel the need to force him to talk to the younger. At least, not yet.
