Jihoon had grown familiar to the group for the longest time. It has been years since he got to know Vernon's friends as well. So getting familiar with Lumi Byul isn't hard on his part as well.
Especially how gradually they got to be open with each other's company, getting to know his side of friends and hers. Counted with that is her growth. She used to be this shy first year at the train, but the next school year had her shell open for them. On how she banters a lot with his friends, Seungkwan, Soonyoung and Seokmin, who's in the same house as hers. Lumi has always been this expressive bundle of joy when she's mixed with her friends. As to why, he might not admit it, he likes calling her Byul and not by her first name, Lumi. Not that he doesn't like 'snow' that much, but she seems to shine 'like a star' to them.
Even as he looks at her sitting quietly on her own, she's radiating this familiar glow. Being in her natural state Jihoon got used to the most.
At most she liked her quiet time as to why they get along as both introverts. And their closeness peaked last year at most. Though, Jihoon noticed her changes this year as well.
Me being this near her, she isn't twinkling much as she used to.
And he's starting to see the first year Lumi all over again, though wrapped around more with doubt.
She's looking more solemn and cold now, much like snow.
He's not seeing that bundle of joy lately, even when she's surrounded by her friends, and it bothers him.
What happened?
Lumi seems too immersed in her book at hand that she didn't notice the senior Slytherin taking the vacant seat just across her.
"Studying for the tests, L?" He looks over the book she has at hand, the one she'd actually been stuffing her nose in the nook and cranny of its pages.
She filched quite too soon. Did he just call me L?
"Y-yeah," closing the book, she covers the front to keep it away from the older. But it was too late as Jihoon pointed at it. "That seems to be from the restricted section though."
Okay, he noticed that. "I actually managed to ask a senior for it, Jung Hoseok-oppa... he's more than willing to help."
The mention of the senior didn't faze Jihoon though, he continues. "What for though?"
Determined like a Slytherin. Yeah, yeah as if she hasn't heard that enough.
"Just... Curious." Lumi says, though not quite maintaining eye contact with the male. "I have always been interested in Transfiguration since last year, it isn't wrong to indulge myself in knowledge you know..."
