The Date

It was a Friday night and I was getting ready for me and Gray's date. I had asked him where we were going, but he said it was a surprise. Since it's a surprise I don't know how to dress. Do I dress fancy, casual, or sexy? Well if I dress fancy or sexy I will look like an outcast, so I will go with casual.

I grabbed a black mini skirt and a blue and white striped top. Then I just slipped on some long combat boots. I heard my phone buzz and I checked it to see it was a message from Gray saying: "I'm outside in front of your apartment.". I was thinking why didn't he just come up to my door, but then I remembered I never told him my room number.

I grabbed my phone that had all my important stuff in there and left my room. I was heading downstairs out of my apartment to go find Gray. It wasn't going to be hard because I would rarely see somebody with a blue car around my area. When I made it outside, I saw him in the parking lot standing beside his car.

"Hey, Gray!" I had waved at him smiling. "Hey, Lucy!" he smiled as I hugged him. I don't know why I feel so nervous right now. He walked to my side and opened the door for me like a gentleman. "Thank you!" I said getting into the passenger seats. He walked over to the driver's side and got in. He started his car and took off out of my community.

To make conversation I decided to ask him: "So where are you taking me for our first date?". "It's still a surprise," he told me. "Come on you can't keep it from me forever," I smiled. "Okay, well I was planning on taking you to go see a movie," he told me. "And what movie might that be?" "After We Collide, unless you want to go see another movie?" he asked me. "No, I wanna go see After We Collide. I read the book and I just know the movie is going to be good," I answered him. "Alright fine with me," he said making a turn.

We were quiet for a couple of minutes until he had asked out of the blue: "So what made you want to keep in contact with me?". "Well, I always afraid to step out of my comfort zone, so I thought it would be good to try something new," I told him. "Ok, Ms. I Play Hard to Get!" he said trying to be funny. "So you want me to just be easy?" I asked as he tensed. "No no no I'm just joking," he freaked out. "It's okay I knew you were joking," I giggled.

Gray started to slow down a bit and he was riding on his breaks through a small area. There were buildings right next to each other that were either food or clothing places. Gray had slowly parked his car trying his best not to hit any other cars. "So where are we?" I asked him. "Where at a small movie theater; all the other ones are kinda full," he told me. "Oh, it okay with me; at least there want to be that many people around us," I smiled.

"Ok!" Gray stopped the engine and he got out from the driver's side to come to open the door for me. I gladly got out of the car while he shut the door behind me. Gray gently grabbed my hand and lead both of us to the small movie theater. He bought the tickets and he bought the food. I wasn't really hungry since I ate so I just got something to drink.

We came into the theater and not that many people were in there. Gray and I had just taken our seats and right on cue, the trailers started to come on. Some of the movies that came on seem to be pretty good. I might check and see if they have a book out first. The movie seemed like it was about to start so I started slurping on my drink.

Both me and Gray were watching the scenes, but that was until I felt Gray touch my thigh. I got so nervous and felt butterflies in my stomach when he did that. There were so many questions going through my mind right now. Should I just let his hand stay there, should I make a move, should I try to avoid the next level of what he is supposed to do, or do couples do this in the movies? I decided to slightly look at Gray to see what his reaction was. To my surprise, he looked normal. He wasn't nervous, freaky, or anything; he just had a straight face. I was wondering if what my reaction was because I was nervous as hell.
