"Broody, I'm telling you. You just need to go over there and kiss him.""I did not ask for your advice, dwarf."
"You're sulking and it's getting annoying. You still love him. He still loves you. Just go over there and do it." Varric insisted.
"No, I can't have any attachments. When we killed-"
Varric cut him off. "No, don't start monologuing now. Just do it or I swear to Andraste I'll-"
The screech of a chair moving across the floor of The Hanged Man could be heard. Fenris slammed his drink onto the bar, causing the ale to bounce over the rim and onto the wood. He stormed across the room, determination apparent on his face.
"I am no liar! That's exactly what he said! It was hilarious!" Hawke's voice rang in his head like the songs of angels. If it was going to happen, it would have to be now, before the abomination, Anders, could woo him with his stupid flirtatious laugh and perpetual availability.
Anders giggled and placed his hand on top of Hawke's, blushing dark pink. The moment broke. "Oh, It's you." His voice was gruff and annoyed, but his face read concern.
"Fen!" Hawke started. His mouth was shut as the elf grabbed him by the chin, pulling him into a deep and rushed kiss. Hawke's eyes were wide open as Fenris pulled away.
"I'm sorry-" Fenris said.
"Don't even." Hawke pressed a finger to the elf's lips.
"Yeah, Fenris you ass!" Anders shouted drunkenly.
Anders had read the situation entirely wrong, but immediately began to shake with fury as he saw what occurred next.
Hawke grabbed Fenris by the shoulders, forcing him into another kiss, this time more passionate. He pulled the elf onto his lap and in return, Fenris wrapped his legs around his waist. Surprisingly, the elf did not protest, considering how public their location was.
"Ugh." Anders grunted, disgusted and obviously jealous.
The loud obnoxious laugh of a dwarf could be heard.
Away from Fenris' line of view, Varric had snuck over to the chair they shared. Hawke carefully removed a hand from Fenris' back.
Just as Anders was about to smile at his sudden lack of interest, the harsh slap of a high five sounded across the room. As expected, the rest of the citizens in the bar had been wolf whistling and quickly writing every detail down, no doubt recording the rekindled romance of the champion.
Fenris pulled away and made eye contact with the dwarf. "Wait. You..."
Varric slowly backed away, like Fenris was an angry bear ready to attack at any given time.
"Not so fast." He demanded.
Hawke started laughing.
"I am going to kill you both."
"Do it!" Anders shouted.
Fenris glared at him, a warning.
Hawke kissed him again, this time standing up, carrying him, and slamming him down onto the table.
Varric rushed back to the bar, taking up conversation with Isabela who had been watching the whole debacle with great interest.
Anders had left with a sad frown plastered on his face at some point during the event.
Hawke brought his head up, still leaning over Fenris, and turned to face the man working the bar.
"We'll get a room!" He shouted, voice confident as ever.
Fenris turned bright red, and hooked his arms around Hawke's neck. Never had the elf been so bold, maybe it was the excessive amount of alcohol, but he did not regret a thing.
"I'll pay." Varric said to the man, before laughing heartily.
Hawke looked back down, smirking ludicrously. He was trying to be enticing but the effects of the ale had left him in a rather riled up state. He picked up the elf, walking straight up the stairs and down the hall.
"I missed you." Fenris admitted solemnly.
Hawke smiled and looked to the smaller man who was glued to his shoulders. "I missed you too."
