Special shoutout to @ForestTrailGuitar, @LaurenBswims and @Angelbooklove19 for commenting/voting/adding the book to their library. But I love all my readers for just spending time reading my story, I hope you all enjoy it.
I got inspo for this chapter cause my mom made apple crumble for me yesterday and I am OBSESSED now. I love it, and it's now my new fav food. hehe.
I wanted to make this episode kinda like a cooking show. Just to show how Jude and Cardan would cook (no offence but I think Cardan wouldn't pay attention half the time and Jude would propably poison any food she makes)
A foodie, Nova :)

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to the newest episode of our show. This is your wonderful host, Cardan Greenbriar!" Cardan says, flashing a disarming grin at the camera, "I'm quite exicted for today, 'cause Jude says that todays is gonna be a special episode!"
I wheel out a gigantic table with a cloth on top, "Yes Cardan, today is gonna be a special episode." Cardan comes and stands next to me, letting out an impressed whistle, "What is under this cloth, my dear?"
I suddenly grasp my stomach and double over, smirking as Cardan catches me, arms held protectively around my waist and shoulders. He looks at me with a worried expression, "Is something wrong, darling? Do you feel ill?"
I snort and stand up, brushing his hands off me, "I was just physically pained that you're showing such affection for me. Somethings up with you..." Cardan grins and me, and the mischevious boy I know and love reappears, "Can't I just care about you because I love you?"
I shake my head at him and go back to stand near the table, "Well today Cardan, we are going to be..." - I pull the cloth off - "Cooking!" Cardan stares at the wide assortment of ingredients with somthing like amusement and fear put together. He lets out a shaky laugh and looks to me, "I can't cook Jude. I seriously have never tried cooking in my life, and I am a sure that I suck."
I shrug, "First time for everything I guess." He stares and the ingredients again, and then back at me, "Then what are we cooking?" I whip out my handy-dandy (just popped into my mind so I wrote it down, don't judge) phone and scroll through the recipies that Vivi sent me.
"Hmm... what about a cake!", I say. Cardan shakes his head, "I don't even know what a cake is, so let's skip that." I scroll even more, trying to search for something Cardan will like. "Ooh, this looks nice..." He says from behind me, as I stop at a picture of an apple pie.
"This is nice, but it looks difficult." I tell him. Cardan pouts at me, and I sigh, "We can try making apple crumble if you want. Its kind of like apple pie, but way eaisier." I search for the recipie, and grin when one pops up, "Yea, let's do this."
************************************
Jude drops and big basket full of apples in my hands, "How the hell are apples so heavy!" Jude grins at me, "Apples aren't heavy Cardan, you just cant carry them." I scowl at her, and place the basket beside all the other ingredients.
Jude looks at her phone and reads out the instructions, "There are two main parts to the apple crumble, the apple and the crumble." She rolls her eyes, "Seriously?" I snigger at her, as I finish placing all the ingredients on the small table.
Her mouth pops into a little "o" as she reads the recipie, making her look absolutely adorable. I smile at her and go stand behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist and placing my chin on her shoulder. She places her hand reflexivly on mine, not even noticing the small gesture.
"Cardan, my love?" she says, leaning her head against mine. I raise my eyebrows at her and feel a sly grin spread on my face, "Yes my dear?" She turns around in my arms, looking at me with those beautiful brown eyes, from below her lashes, "Could you do something for me, my gorgeous High king?"
She toys with my sleeve in a way that almost shy and I feel my grin widen, knowing that she's up to something, "Anything for you, darling." She grins, "Can you please peel and cut the apples for me?"
I don't know how I looked at her, but she burst out laughing, "I'm so sorry, I thought you knew I was playing with you." I look at her and say, "I knew you were up to something, but I really wasn't expecting that."
Jude laughs again and playfully pushes me to the small table with the apples. "You use this to peel the apples, and just cut it with a knife, ok?" she explains, holding up a knife in one hand and a weird metal object in the other.
As I start peeling and cutting the apples, which turn out to be quite fun, Jude tries to make the 'crumble' part of the dish. She mixes flour, butter and sugar till it turns into a crumb-ish texture. I take my pot of perfectly sliced apple pieces to her. "What do I do with this?"
"I'm supposed to slighty cook them till they become soft." She tells me, "so just place the pot on the stove and turn it on." I do what she says, fumbling with the knobs on the stove to get it to the right temprature.
Jude mixes in more sugar and a very nice smelling stick, that she calls cinnamon, with the apples. I stir the apples while Jude does something with the weird contraption that mortals call ovens. She puts the now golden apples in a bowl, and adds the crumble on top before putting it into the oven.
"We're done!" Jude says, a huge smile on her face. I pick her up and spin her around, making her laugh. "I can't belive I actually cooked something." I say, setting her down. She narrows her eyes at me and says, "Well, I did most of the work..." I pout at her, "but yes, you did help too."
We both go and stand in front of the oven, looking into it expectantly. And after about 30 - 40 minutes, Jude pulls out the bowl. The pale crumble now is golden brown and I can only imagine how delicious it will be.
Jude places the steaming apple crumble down and brings two plates for us. "You should eat it with ice-cream," She tells me, "It will be even better." I cut up two big slices of the apple crumble and place it on out plates, while Jude adds the ice-cream on top.
"Here goes nothing." she says before taking a huge bite of the apple crumble. I hear her sigh in pleasure and laugh, "Its that good?" She nodds, stuffing her mouth with more. I pick up a piece of the apple crumble and ice-cream and eat it, chewing slowly.
It tastes heavenly.
The coldness of the ice cream perfectly contrasts with the heat of the crumble, and the crunchy crumble and soft apples are such a perfect combination together. I had no idea Jude could cook so well.
We quickly finish off our crumble, taking second and third helpings before leaning back, stomachs full. "Well folks," I say to the camera, "today we learnt that apple crumble is the best food in the world, and that I do not suck at cooking."
Jude looks at me in a I-did-most-of-the-work way and I roll my eyes. She laughs and looks at the camera, "We are going to end this show for today everyone, So goodbye, and I hope we see you soon."
As Jude gets up to leave I go stand next to her, "My dear queen, fairy fruit is like apples right?" Jude nods. "So would it be possible to make apple crumble out of fairy fruit?" She thinks about this for a second before a truly evil grin breaks out on her face.
