"Welcome one, welcome all to the newest episode of 'Cardan reacts to all things mortal!' This is your host Cardan Greenbriar!" I grin at the camera, "The last episode had ended a bit ... abruptly" Jude snorts, " Abruptly? We started to make out in front of everyone, I bet they puked their guts out, looking at us."

I smirk at her, "You were the one who started it." I say in a matter-of-fact tone. "I was the one who started it Mr It-smells-delicious." she rolls her eyes. I raise my hands in surrender as I grin at her.

"What do you have for me today Jude, darling." I ask her. She pushes out a tray in front of me, "Today, I wanted to be generous so I got you some food to react too" She pulls off the cloche to reveal a roll of some kind.

She picks it up and hands it to me. I take it from her, it looks like some kind of crunchy cylinder on the outside, golden-brown in colour and white and soft on the inside. And it is making my mouth water. "What is this, my dear wife," I ask Jude, not taking my eyes off the little cylinder, "This looks quite ... inviting "

Jude laughs at me, "Cardan! You're drooling! On the floor!" I quickly wipe my chin and look at her, "What is this? Are all mortal foods so ..." I sigh, making her laugh even more.

"Your majesty, as your past adviser, I would advise you to stop looking at the food like you're gonna fall in love with it," She puts her hands on her hips and stares at me, "And as your wife, I take offence that you care about a fish stick more that me!!!"

I wave a hand towards her, dismissing the thought, "Is that what this is?" I ask her, "A fish stick?" Jude rolls her eyes at me, clearly exasperated, "Yes Cardan, this is a fish stick."

I look at her from below my lashes, and grin "Let me guess, it's made of fish!" She groans loudly, collapsing on her chair, "No Cardan, it's made of sticks"

"Ah ha! I know you're lying!" I shout, aware that she probably wants to punch me. "Yes, I was being sarcastic, now react to the fish stick!"

I look at the fish stick, "Well ... it looks appetizing, I know it will be crunchy and soft at the same time. The golden brown colour makes it even more mouth watering and it smells... well it doesn't smell like one of Queen Orlagh seafood buffets." I wince at the thought of raw fish and clams. Ugh, that day I promised that I would never eat fish again, Oh well ... this will probably be better.

I take a bite and sigh, It tastes delicious, exactly like I imagined. It was slightly crunchy, and the fish literally melted in my mouth. Jude runs to the side and quickly brings out a huge plate, with a ginormous stack of fish sticks.

I dust my hands and look at her, begging her to give me more. She groans and places the plate down and I pounce on the fish sticks.

But Jude stops me before I could even get halfway there, "Cardan, wait." she tells me, walking back and getting a jar or something red. She screws off the cap, and puts a really generous blob on the fish sticks.

I tilt my head towards her and whisper, "Is that blood?" She sighs, "mortals don't drink blood Cardan, its ketchup, like tomato sauce!"

I let out an impressed whistle, "Do we eat it with the fish sticks?"

"Well, normally people don't exactly eat fish sticks with ketchup," she explains, "but I prefer eating it together."

"Oh!" I take a fish stick with a huge amount of ketchup on it and pop it in my mouth. I slightly wince at the tangy sweetness of the sauce. It doesn't taste bad, but I prefer it plain. Jude laughs, "Why did you put soooo much ketchup, It's obviously gonna taste weird"

I pout at her, "Please give me the plate Jude, my dear" She raises her eyebrows and waves a fish stick tauntingly, "You want this?"

I give her my most charming grin and nod, scooting a bit closer. She moves back, still holding the fish stick. I stand up and pounce at her, seeing her eyes widen before I tackle her to the floor. "Cardan! Not this again." She laughs and I try to grab the fish stick from her hand. But she stuffs it into her mouth before I can grab it, chewing it right in front of my face, the crumbs coating her chin and cheeks.

( **SAPPY ALERT**)

I smile down at her, laughing, face covered with crumbs, her brown eyes sparkling with joy. Joy because of me, a thought that would be non-existent a few months ago. I bend down, slightly brushing my lips against her jaw, my hands tightening on her waist.

She lets out a breathy laugh, "What is this for?" I don't answer, pulling back to look into her eyes, wide and shining, "I love you Jude, I promise to love you forever."

Jude smiles, "Forever is a long time, are you sure you can love me for that long?" I brush a thumb against her cheek, trying to convey my answer with my eyes. "I love you too Cardan, but I don't know If you're doing this because of affection or because you want me to let you eat the fish sticks"

I grin, "Definitely because I want fish sticks" and because I want you to stay with me forever. I brush the thought out of my mind and scramble off her, letting Jude get up on her own as I grab the tray of fish sticks and quickly stuff then into my mouth, "Mmmm, still taste good."

I lick my hands free of crumbs as Jude sits down next to me, looking at me as if she were trying to figure something out. I shove the tray in front of her face and try to talk around bits of food, "Do you want a fish stick?" She smiles and snatches a handful, "Do you even need to ask?"

                                               ***************************************

I look at Cardan, trying to figure out what he meant when he said he loved me. Cardan was never straightforward, and it was so odd when he looked at me with nothing but love in his eyes, when he brushed his lips against my cheek with so much tenderness.

Oh well, he must have done it to get the fishsticks, he said as much and he can't lie. I smile as Cardan swallows the last of the fish sticks and turns to the camera, his face covered with sauce and crumbs, making him look so ... mortal.

"I think we will end this show here because I am pretty sure I have eaten too much," he pats his flat stomach for effect, "and if I have any more I will probably blast." He looks at me and smiles and I take over, "So goodnight everyone, and we will see you tomorrow."

Cardan winks at the camera and slowly gets up, bowing down in front of me with a hand outstretched. I take it and get up and he grins at me, "After you, my dear queen."
