riley was freaking out.
it was a joke. she didn't actually mean it. she didn't have claim over clay, at least not that she knew of.
but twitter, and dreams suddenly much larger fanbase, didn't really like when he talked to women, or when they talked back. especially not if they joke back. no, god forbid.
her dms has been filled with 13 and 14 year old girls who thought they owned 'dream' and the occasional over 18 shooting their shot, or threatening to dox her. there was no in between.
and now clay probably through she was being serious. she just hoped that nick could set him straight, make him realize that the screenshot being tweeted at him, and the tweet he had actually seen (because of course he had her notifs on) was indeed just a joke.
sure, maybe riley had an ever growing crush on him, but that was besides the point.
she didn't even know if it was a crush.
it felt like second grade all over again. back when neither of them knew how to express emotions, and she would constantly threaten to feed them to the gators.
or the time they went out to eat without their families, and paid in the pocket money they had saved up from allowance and change found on street corners. riley is almost a hundred percent sure that they didn't actually have enough, and that the waitress just put it on the house because they were young and 'in love' or whatever.
or when she punched him in the face and knocked out his loose tooth because he had shoved her off the top of a slide and almost broken her arm.
good times, good times.
and now... well, she kind of wanted to punch him in the face again, just for making her feel the way she did before she got her heartbroken by some football playing douchebag who was only in it for the sex.
oh, and she was supposed to be on stream with clay today.
