Homeroom is the definition of boring. The teacher drones on and on about how bullying is bad and whatnot. We already know that but it doesn't seem to stop anyone. Luckily this is a small class with around seven other people. None of which are my brother's friends.
They all are bound to know me though.
There are still fifteen more minutes in the class so the teacher makes us all sit in a circle with our chairs. I sit at least a few feet from everyone. The teacher smiles at us all and says, "We have a new student amongst us today. Say your name and something about you then we'll all ask a question."
I sigh. This is stupid. "Uhh... My name is Reeve and I'm allergic to peanuts."
It's what I said in Chicago so it's what I'll say here.
The girl sitting across from me has curly brown hair and light brown skin. She gives me a wicked smirk that I return, "Is it true that you crashed a car?"
It's not like I didn't know I'd be getting questions like these. The teacher is stupid, all of my teachers knew I was here before and what happened. The teacher makes a noise but I answer before he can object, "True."
The girl's smirk grows. "Reeve and Jada. We don't talk about stuff like this in our classroom."
The girl named Jada responds with, "You said we could ask questions and anyways she didn't have a problem answering that."
The teacher just sighs.
A kid with blond hair who I've had classes with before then asks, "Did you go into a mental ward because that's what your brother said?"
I wouldn't have put it past him to say something like that but I was hoping he wouldn't. No brother should say something like that.
The teacher interrupts, "No more questions."
After that, the class is pretty boring. When it ends I grab my backpack but the Jada girl and the boy follow me out. I turn to them and ask, "Can I help you?"
Jada smirks, "I was hoping you'd say that. Smalls and I have a proposition for you. It'll work out in your favor."
I nod because I'm interested. I wasn't looking for friends but having some could help make my time here less tortuous. Smalls continues, "We don't like Celia, Norah, or any of them. They are all bitches that need to get knocked down a peg. You could help us."
Grinning, I bite my lip then tell them, "I've got to get to class but I'm in."
Smalls and Jada grin but Jada says, "We have classes with you, Smalls was able to check when he was on office duty."
We all walk and Jada wraps an arm around my shoulder, "Learn to love us because we're going to be spending lots of time together."
