There's a commotion at the end of the hallway that catches everyone's attention. Kohen and I exchange a glance but he just shrugs. I push past people searching for the cause that has grasped everyone's attention.
Kohen begrudgingly follows with Norah clinging to his arm.
With at least ten feet between her and everyone else is Reeve throwing up in a trash can. I cringe and look away from the sight. Norah gasps and Kohen gags.
Once she's finished emptying her stomach Reeve looks up to all of us with a horrified expression on her face. She looks like she could throw up again.
We make eye contact but we both look away as quickly as possible.
A girl rushes over to Reeve but when the girl touches her Reeve jerks her arm away from her and walks away from everyone.
There's a pull in my chest that wants me to go after her but I don't.
People start to go back to minding their own business, Kohen and Norah walk away but I'm stuck in place staring at the classroom Reeve just walked into, but as quickly as she walked in she walks out.
The same girl who tried to console her a minute ago watches her walk away defeated, I watch as she goes but I try not to let on to the fact that I'm watching her.
Reeve looks at me for a second and when our eyes meet there is raw hurt there. I almost reach out to touch her.
Something I used to do when we were younger. If she was hurt I'd hug her and wipe her tears away. A thing that I'd never do now.
Reeve walks away from me and a defeated feeling settles in my chest.
Tearing my eyes away from the girl I used to call my best friend, from the girl I used to love, my eyes meet a brown pair. Jada Thomas, she sends me a death glare but shakes her head and walks back into her class.
I can't figure out why she'd be mad at me but that's not my problem.
I pass Sam Harrison in the hallway and he goes into the classroom Reeve just exited. He looks confused and hurt.
A feeling anyone who tries to get close to Reeve Wilmot will feel.
