Christian has a tight grip on the wheel. We haven't said a word to each other the entire ride. He's angry about the issues we had earlier. I don't like drunk Christian.
"Where are we going?" I ask as he passes the road to our street, more specifically the one that will take me home.
"Ice cream," Is all he says.
"Come on Christian, I just want to go home. I've had a long day." My pleading falls on deaf ears.
He doesn't turn around or even slow the truck down.
His tone softens, "Was it my brother?"
Tomorrow we'll forget about this. He'll be normal Christian and I'll be normal Reeve. He'll help me with my algebra and then we'll go get ice cream with the boys. Normal things.
That's all I can pray for at least.
"Answer me, Reeve. Was it my brother?"Christian seethes.
"Y-yes," I sputter out.
It was the wrong thing to say. I might regret having gotten into this car but I will forever regret admitting to Adrian being the cause of my sadness.
He just chuckles, "You've been in love with my idiot brother for far too long. Don't you think it's time to get over him? I can help?"
With that said Christian pulls onto the side of the road. It's a back road no one uses unless the main road has a heavy amount of traffic.
This late at night no one will be on this road.
There will be no one to save me.
