8:49pm

Harry

Awake. He knew he was awake, but he couldn't bring himself to open his eyes. His body felt numb, which was nice, as there wasn't any pain.

He brought himself to open his eyes a few minutes later. He had lost all track of time. It was as if just a few minutes ago he was watching Louis die in front of his eyes. However it was actually almost nine o'clock. The white walls of the hospital surrounded himself as he lay still on the bed. He was hooked up to tubes and wires and a heart monitor. He also a tube under his nose, providing him with oxygen. He had double IV, one in each arm, and stickers on his chest for the heart monitor.

He never liked hospitals. He had a bad experience as a child, where the doctors messed up his surgery. The doctors at first refused to help him because they didn't think anything was wrong, but there obviously was. Then during surgery a mistake was made that caused a major setback in his recovery. Ever since then he had a fear of hospitals. He never told anyone though. But whenever he thought of hospitals, he almost had a panic attack just at the thought. But now he was in the hospital with nobody and for all he knew Louis could be dead.

His breathing became quite heavy, causing the heart monitor to go off as his heart rate was increasing and rapidly at that fact. A nurse came rushing in.

"Honey you need to slow your breathing. You could be jeopardizing your recovery."

"Please I need to see him. He was dying! Please!" Harry pulled out his IV in his left arm and took off the oxygen on his face. He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain in his side overtook him and caused him to throw his head back down on the bed. "Ow! That hurts a lot!"

"We will get you an update, but you need to calm down. You're going to pull out your staples!" The nurse held him back, pushing a button on the wall. She placed an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose as his oxygen stats dropped slightly. More people came in, trying to hold him down and calm his heart rate. "Can we get his family in here?!"

"They are on their way up. Should be here any minute!" Another nurse called out as she walked out of the room. They continued to try to hold Harry down as Harry's hand came up and hit one of the nurses in the face by accident. As the nurses started to restrain his hand, they noticed Niall, Liam, and Anne at the doorway.

"Harry please stop!" Anne broke down, falling to her knees and Liam tried to comfort her, as Niall made his way to Harry's bedside.

"Harry! Harry! It's Niall! Please calm down!" Niall grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer, causing him to wince in pain.

"Ow! Please don't do that. That hurts." He was crying because of the pain but then he realized that Niall was the one who grabbed him. "Niall!" He reached over to hug him, but the pain in his side was too unbearable. As a cold sensation took over him, he released Niall's hand and all he saw was blackness.

The nurse put something in his IV that knocked him out. Hopefully he would be calmer the next time he woke up. They put his IV back in and assessed his incision. They redressed it and assured the rest of them that he would be okay. They placed the oxygen tube that goes under his nose back on his face, providing him with fresh oxygen.

"He will be out for a little while. His heart rate was too high and it could be life threatening if it happens again. Call me when he wakes."

The nurse strolled out of the room, her hand on her cheek. Harry didn't mean any harm, just needed information. Information they didn't have a chance to give him.

"Anne are you alright?" It was Niall who had spoken. "You seemed very shaken up."

"I'm sorry boys. Harry never liked hospitals. They always frightened him. I don't like seeing him like that. I'm going to go outside for a bit to get some air. Please text me when he wakes." As she made her way out the room, Niall turned towards Liam, who just sat in the chair in the corner of the room with his head and his hands. Niall made his way over to try and comfort the crying boy.

"It's alright. He will be okay!" Niall offered comforting words, but that's not what was bothering him. He was worried about Louis.

"I know. It's not him. I'm worried about Louis too!" He stood up in frustration. "He is having bloody brain surgery! What if he never wakes up? Or he doesn't remember us? What are we going to do then?"

Niall held his arms out for a hug, and that's what they did. "I know mate. But we need to be strong. Let's focus on what we know. We wait for Harry to wake up, then we worry about Louis. Okay?" Even though the words left Niall's mouth, he was worried too. What if Louis was never okay? Harry would never forgive himself.

9:30pm

Niall heard a sigh come from the bed. He quickly made his way over to Harry, who was starting to wake up again.

"Hey mate. How you feeling?"

"Shitty." He made a quick head turn and tried sitting up, only causing him pain in his side. Niall put a hand to his chest to make him lay back down. "Where's. Louis?" Taking a breath in between each word.

"He's alive, but in surgery. We haven't gotten an update yet." He noticed Harry shuffling around and offered a hand on his shoulder. "You need to remain calm though. You could injure yourself further if you move too much. Did you text Anne?"

Obviously directed at Liam, "Yeah. She said she would be up in about ten minutes." Liam continued sitting in the chair, making no eye contact with Harry. Something was clearly bothering him.

"I'm sorry. It's just I saw him dying and I-" He was cut off.

"I know. I know. It's okay now. You can't find out any information if you're dead, so please just calm down okay. I'm going to go get the nurse." Niall proceeded out the room, leaving Liam and Harry in silence.

Harry shuffled and turned slightly, careful not to cause pain.

"You alright mate? You've been very quiet. I know we haven't seen each other in a while, but somethings off." Harry broke the silence between them, trying to figure out what was bothering him.

Liam just stared at the floor

"You could have killed him." Liam mumbled, barely audible.

"What was that?"

"You could have killed him!" Liam was stood up. He started towards Harry's bedside, as Harry braced himself. "He could have been killed! What were you thinking?"

"Liam what the hell? I didn't do anything." Harry grabbed at his side as he slightly sat up. The machine was going off now as Harry's heart rate increased. "A car swerved and hit us. What was I to do?"

Liam took Harry's wrist that was holding him up, causing Harry to yelp in pain. Liam's face was close to Harry's and he could smell the alcohol in his breath.

"Ow Liam please stop!"

"We don't even know if he is gonna make it out of surgery!" His hand up by Harry's face, when a nurse walked in. Niall and Anne followed behind.

"It's not my-" Harry doubled over in pain as Liam put his hand on his side.

"You were driving!"

"Liam stop! What the hell man?" Liam was being pulled back by Niall as Anne took Harry's hand. Harry was sobbing in pain and that what Liam said was true. The nurse gave him meds in his IV and then spoke up.

"Okay everybody out now! Anne you can stay, but you two need to leave. You can come back in the morning. Harry needs to rest."

"No don't let him back in my room. He hurt me-" Harry spoke through his tears. "I don't want him back in here." Anne comforted him and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"It's fine sweetheart, just let them go. You need to go to sleep." Anne pulled her chair closer to her son, comforting Harry as he fell asleep with pain meds just kicking in. A tear fell down his cheek as he drifted off to sleep.
