Monday 1:32pm

Harry

Today was the day. The day that Harry would get his staples out, which moved him closer to the day where he could see Louis. He was still slightly worried, but Niall had been staying with him, so he knew he wasn't lonely.

The nurse came in just after lunch, to prepare him for getting his staples out. He hadn't really been able to move out of bed because of his staples. Plus it was too painful to do so anyways. Niall told him about Louis' little fit yesterday, but he had been stable ever since. Fizzy was unable to see Harry, because she had work the next morning, but Harry didn't take offence or anything. He was just glad that she got to see Louis, as it is her brother after all.

The doctor came in a little later to remove his staples, which was painful, but bearable. Anne was there to hold his hand and reassure him. After that he met with a physical therapist to help get him up and moving. He was able to sit up for the first time without any excruciating pain, which was kind of nice.

Harry was finally able to shower, with help from a nurse, but it was a shower. His concussion had subsided, so he wasn't getting headaches anymore. The doctor cleared him for walking and allowed him to see Louis the next day.

"So about Liam." Niall started the conversation after Harry finished his therapy that afternoon.

"Look Niall. I'm not really in the mood to talk about him okay." He sat down on his bed, and called the nurse. He needed some paracetamol so ease the little bit of pain that he had. "Has he been back at all?"

"He has seen Louis, but only from the doorway. He hated seeing him like that. He walked by your room, but you were asleep. He just wants to talk to you and apologize." Niall bit his lip, nervous to let Liam and Harry see each other again, but reluctantly, Harry allowed.

"Fine"

5:22pm

Harry had just finished dinner, when Liam came in. Harry was reluctant to look him in the eyes, so he just stared at the floor. He was sitting at the edge of his bed like his therapist told him to do when he ate.

"Hey" Liam broke the silence and the tension in the room was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

"Hey"

"Look man about the other-" Harry had cut him off.

"If you're just gonna come in here and tell me you're sorry and make up some lame excuse as to why you were acting that way, then leave. I don't want to hear it. And I already know you were drunk. Niall told me." Harry was hurt. Liam and Harry used to be best mates in the band, but once they went on hiatus, they fell out of touch.

"No please. Just hear me out." Liam picked at his hand before continuing, looking towards Harry for approval.

"Talk then"

"Yes I was mad at you, but don't put this on yourself. What I said, I didn't mean it. And yes, I was drunk. I had come from the bar, after a horrible writing session. I couldn't come up with anything and was stressed. That's one of the main reasons I asked Louis for help. I didn't mean to hurt you. I don't really remember what I did, but when Niall told me, I felt awful." He had tears in his eyes, trying his best to hold them back. "I didn't realize I caused you that kind of pain and guilt. Please forgive me."

Harry kind of just sat and listened, unsure of what to say back to him. He knew Liam would never hurt a soul, but drinking can change that and fast. He was still mad, but hearing Liam explain, assured him that he wouldn't hurt him.

"If you don't forgive me I understand, but please give me a chance."

"It's okay. I was already mad at myself, so honestly I felt like I deserved it that night. What you said was true. I could have killed him."

Liam's eyes widened with the words that came out of Harry's mouth. He hadn't realized that he said all that. It hurt.

"No Harry! You were hit by a drunk driver, you couldn't really do much." He took Harry's hand and put a hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him and get that thought out of his head. "Louis is alive and actually improving. He's not dead and it's not your fault."

"But that's what you told me! Ever since that night, that's all I think about. I can't just stop thinking that. I haven't even seen him. It sucks." Harry put his head in his hands, unable to contain his tears. "I just want to see him."

"I know. Come here" He pulled Harry into a tight hug, comforting as he sobbed on his shoulder. "He'll be okay. You can see him tomorrow. He'll be waiting for you."

The two boys sat and watched TV for the rest of the night. Harry was too nervous and excited to sleep. He gets to see Louis tomorrow. That's all he wanted since he got in this room.

He put on some of his normal clothes and laid in his bed, unable to sleep. He had too many thoughts running through his head. Good and bad. Then his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey Harry! It's Fizzy"

"Hey Fizz! What's up?"

"Sorry I couldn't stop by to see you. Had to get to work the next morning. Just wanted to see how you were doing."

Harry adjusted himself so he was now sitting up. "Um yea I'm alright. Finally got my staples out this afternoon, so I was able to start physical therapy and get out of this bed.

Fizzy laughed and continued, "That's great! I'm glad to hear you're improving." It was quiet for a moment. "Have you seen Lou yet?"

"No" Harry laid back down with the phone to his ear. "Hopefully get to see him tomorrow. Just tell me. What does he look like? I'm too anxious to wait."

"Honestly Harry it's not much. He doesn't talk or move, just lays there, breathing with help from the machine and the tube down his throat. The nurses say to talk to him and hold his hand because he can apparently feel it and hear us, but I don't know. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. They won't know until he wakes up."

"Is it true he is improving? Liam said he was, but how do I know?"

"Yes he is actually. When I saw him, he started to breathe over the tube a little, which means he can feel it, which is a good sign. They think he'll wake up in the next few days."

"That's good. Hopefully he does. Once I see him, I won't leave his side. He's probably lonely."

Fizzy didn't say anything, but Harry knew he was right. Louis probably didn't know that Harry was alive. That made him nervous and sad, but he just wanted to see him.

"Alright Harry I've got to go, love. Got a busy day ahead of me. Call me when he wakes. Won't be there till next weekend."

"Sounds good Fizz. And I will. See ya."

Harry was finally calm enough to try and rest. His talk with Fizzy calmed him down and reassured him that Louis was actually improving.

The rest of the night Liam and Niall took turns staying with Harry and Louis. One will stay with Louis and sleep and the other with Harry. He liked the company of his friends, but he just couldn't wait for the next day to come.
