Up the Creek

Jesse and the Screaming Gophers had to meet at the beach for their next challenge.

"Bass, Gophers, today's challenge is a true summer camp experience. A canoe trip." announced Chris and he showed them four green and three red canoes at the edge of the beach.

"You'll be paddling your canoes across the lake... to Bony Islaaaaaaaand!" Chris announced trying to sound scary. "When you get there, you must portage your canoes to the other side of the island. Which is about a 2 hour hike through treacherous, dense jungle!" he pointed out, showing a map of the island.

"We've gotta pour what?" asked a confused Geoff.

DJ and Bridgette facepalmed.

"Portage." Chris pronounced as a fly flew through Geoff's ear and flew out the other.

"Dude... walk with your canoe." Chris explained.

"Oh."

"When you arrive at the other end of the island, you'll build a rescue fire that will be judged by me. The first team to paddle home and return their canoes to the beach is the winner of invincibility. MOVE, CAMPERS, MOVE!" Chris announced and the teams began running to the canoes.

"Oh wait, one more thing I should mention." Chris pointed out which caused the campers to freeze and listen.

"Legend has it if you take anything off the island... you'll be cursed forever!" Chris announced, still trying to sound scary which led to a startling thunder crack.

"YEAH! A CURSED ISLAND! WHOOO!" Owen whooped, raising his arms in the air as all the campers stared at him in confusion.

"Now... get in your canoes and let's have some fun." Chris said and the campers began walking off.

"YES!" Owen yelled.

Beth then returned from the toilet and ran to Chris with a toilet paper tail stuck to her foot.

"What'd I miss?" she asked nervously.

"Canoes." Chris simply said thumbing to the canoes, which Beth followed.

/"A cursed island? Tch, as if. I'm onto you, Chris. It'll take a lot more than *scary* voices, a dumb name and a thunder crash to make me get superstitious. Curses. HAH!"/ (Jesse)

As the teams arrived at the canoes, Trent and Gwen shared a rather positive look. Maybe they were okay now? Well, the mood was destroyed when Cody placed his arm around Gwen's shoulders.

"Come on, Gwen! You and me, open water! Waddya say?" he asked delusionally.

Gwen responded by grabbing the back of his neck, pushing him down and pulling his arm up, painfully restraining him. Though Trent was hooked into buddying with Beth and Lindsay.

"(Sigh) Fine. But I'm in charge." she reluctantly agreed.

"That's the way I like it." Cody confidently agreed, almost like Gwen didn't restrain him before.

"Got room for one more?" Jesse asked.

"Sure. Come on, Jesse." Gwen agreed much more positively with Jesse.

/"Cody's such a moron if he thinks Gwen's gonna hook up with him thanks to his stupid antiks. Who knows? Maybe he'll get stalked and learn how it feels from there. Or he could at least stalk Heather for a bit." (Jesse)
