I was laying on the hotel bed waiting for Normani to come back. They had an interview yesterday with Zach Sang and another today and then they had to go and do some other PR stuff so they were going to be out for most of the day. I was on my phone texting in my friends group chat, Dinah was also apart of it but she was busy so she wasn't contributing to the conversation. We had organised to meet up at a Cafe that we all liked so I got up and put on a pair of ripped jeans with a dark red cropped shirt along with my pair of black vans. 

I walked out of the hotel and texted Mani where I was even though she wouldn't reply. I wasn't famous at all so I was barely recognised in the streets but some fans knew who I was and asked me for photos. I always said yes and it always made them smile which I loved. When I made it to the Cafe my friends were already there and I made my way over to them.

"Hey y/n" Zoe said as I sat down. I was second closest with her and when Dinah wasn't an option I would go to her for advice. 

We fell into an easy conversation of how everyone was doing and what they had been up to. I had been doing college online so I could travel with Mani when I wanted to or when she wanted me to be there. It was just easier and I didn't mind. When the fact that Mani was my girlfriend was brought up they started talking about the interview the girls did yesterday that I hadn't seen.

"She's really smitten by you y/n. What she says in the interview is evidence of that." Jake told me as someone else pulled up the interview to show me. They skipped to the part and I couldn't help but smile

Interview

"So Dinah is it true that your best friend y/n is dating Normani?" Zach asked. Both girls smiled and looked at each other.

"Yes that is true. I have known y/n since forever. She has stuck by me my whole life and I love her to bits. I trust that Mani will take good care of her, y/n is really in love with her, I have never seen her like this with her previous relationships" Dinah told Zach, I smiled at her kind words and waited for Mani to speak

"She really is great. We started officially dating mid last year. It took us a while to make it official. Dinah had introduced us to her friends start of last year and we really did hit it off but we were both too shy to admit it to one another that we had feelings. So Dinah took it into her hands and set us up and we've been together since then. She is amazing, she never fails to make me smile or laugh when I am sad. She gives the best advice and she always supports me and I love her with all my heart. I know she will watch this when it comes out and I just wanna say that to my love, you are so beautiful and I promise to love you forever" She said as she looked right into the camera.

After watching that bit everyone fell back into their own conversations and ate the food we ordered. I sat there listening to all of them and thinking about how lucky I got to have a great group of friends and a wonderful girlfriend. I was never going to let any of them go.

Zoe had given me a lift back to the hotel as we had all gone to the park for a bit to hang out and it was a bit dark. I said my goodbyes and got out of the car and went to the elevator. It was a long ride up to floor 12. Once I was there I went back to the hotel room and was surprised to see that Mani wasn't in here. I walked over to the bed and saw that she had written a note saying that she went out to get something. I put the note back down and headed to the shower. 

I walked out of the bathroom with my towel wrapped around my body and my semi wet hair falling naturally down my back. I was too in my head to realise that Mani was back and sitting on the bed. So when I finally looked over to the bed I gave myself the biggest shock and almost fell over. I heard giggles coming from her direction and I pouted.

"It wasn't funny Mani. You scared me half to death" I told her with a big pout. She walked over with a big smile on her face and wrapped me in a hug

"I missed you buttercup" she told me, using the nickname she gave me a year ago

"I missed you too" I replied as I wrapped my arms around her neck and held her close and inhaled her sweet smell. We hugged for a while until she let me go so I could get dressed. I put on one of her shirts and a pair of shorts and climbed into bed next to her.

"You know I watched the Zach Sang interview today" I told her as I cuddled into her side 

"Oh yeah I figured that you would watch that eventually" she replied as she kissed the top of my head

"Yeah, you said some really lovely things about me and I love you so much, I hope you keep your promise because I want it to come true" I told her as I pulled myself closer to her 

"I am not one to break my promises buttercup" she told me as she rubbed up and down my arm. With a smile I closed my eyes and we both drifted into a peaceful sleep. Knowing that we would wake up together and take on the world hand in hand.
