I was walking to the library to find books about Mount Everest since it had always interested me when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw Klaus, Violet's brother. "Hi," he said, smiling. "Hi," I said. He was walking with Violet and their sister Sunny. "I guess you're going to the library, too," Klaus guessed. "Yeah, I was going to look for books about Mount Everest. I've wanted to go see it for as long as I can remember," I said. "Oh, cool," Klaus replied. "I've been interested in mountains in general for a while." "I didn't have anything in particular that I wanted read. Usually I just look through the books that I haven't read until I find something I think I'll be interested in." "I should try that." "Yeah, you should." Violet and Sunny had fallen behind at this point, so I decided to tell Klaus that I liked Violet. "Klaus... can I tell you something?" I asked him. "Yeah, what is it?" he answered. "Don't tell anyone, but I like Violet..." I said slowly. "Oh cool! Do you think she likes you?" Klaus asked. "I don't know. I haven't thought too much about it because I didn't want to get my hopes up just in case she doesn't like me." "Have you thought about telling her?" "Yeah, I just haven't got a chance yet." "Let's figure it out at the library," Klaus suggested. I agreed, so we went on to the library.
