Chapter Five (Violet's POV)

I had been at the beach all day trying to come up with new inventions, but I was stumped. Usually it wasn't that hard for me to come up with ideas, but today for some reason, I couldn't. The only one with me was Sunny. She was practicing different recipes for when you're not near anywhere you can get food at. Klaus was at the library with Quigley like he usually was since they've had the time to. Since Sunny was busy cooking and Klaus and Quigley were at the library, I didn't have anyone to give me inspiration for what to make. After watching Sunny for a while, I tried coming up with something to help her with cooking. I was still coming up with ideas when I thought I felt someone else's presence next to me. I looked over at who it was, and saw Duncan. He was watching Sunny cook. "Hey," I said. Duncan looked at me. "Hi," he answered. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I decided to go on a walk. What about you?" "I came to make inventions while Sunny cooked." "Have you came up with any?" "No, not yet. I haven't found any inspiration." "Oh. If you're not too busy later, do you want to go eat somewhere?" "Sure." "Ok, I'll come back here around six. You don't need to change, it's not anything fancy." "Ok, I'll be ready," I said smiling. "Sunny can come, too, if she wants." "Ok, I'll see you then." "Bye," Duncan said before walking off.
