I sighed as I played with Hamzahs fingers. My head was still in his lap, as we watched television. I was exhausted but I tried not to let it show, attempting to spend as much time with him as possible. Unfortunately, he noticed my dropping eyelids and my slowed breaths.

"Time for bed, yeah?" He said. I sighed but stood up with him. I grabbed the remote and turned off the television. Hamzah turned off all the lights while I locked the door. I slowly walked to my room. I quickly went into the bathroom connected to my room to change. Hamzah changed in the room. Once we were both finished getting ready, we climbed into bed. I'd missed having Hamzah by my side. I laid my head on his chest, while his long arms wrapped around me. I felt my heart swell as I realized how much I'd missed him, even if he was only gone for a short amount of time. He rested his chin on top of my head while our legs were a jumbled mess. I was wearing small shorts and a random shirt from some marathon, with my hair wrapped up into a messy ponytail. Hamzah was wearing sweatpants and a plain shirt. His dark curly hair was messy, which made me giggle.

"Goodnight," He whispered into my hair. I smiled.

"Goodnight," I whispered back, muffled by his shirt.  I felt his heart pick up a bit. I smiled again and shut my eyes, his slow breaths sending me into a deep sleep.

I woke up, Hamzahs iPhone alarm buzzing loudly next to us. I groaned. Hamzah slowly opened his eyes, blinking like a lost puppy. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. Yawning, I stretched my arms into the air. We had to catch an early flight this morning, at 8. It was currently 5 a.m. I sighed. I lived fairly close to the airport. It was only about a half an hour drive, with traffic. The sun was still low and the sky was a pretty baby blue. I climbed out of bed, reaching for my outfit. I quickly got changed, not even caring that Hamzah was in the room. He was just clicking around on his phone. I went into the bathroom to curl my hair and pack up all of my toiletries. After I finished, Hamzah went in to get ready. We grabbed our suitcases and brought them to the living room. It was only around 5:15 now, so I made some quick toast and some coffee.

By 5:25, we were out the door. We made it to the sea-tac parking where we parked our car and gave the keys. Then, we climbed into a shuttle bus with only a couple people in it. Hamzah put our bags on the shelves. We finally got to the airport, the bus pulling up in front and letting us out. We went up the elevator and went to the machines to print tickets for our bags. Once we finished, we walked into the main entrance area of the airport and went in. I grabbed Hamzahs hand. Don't get me wrong, airports are nice, but sometimes they make me so anxious. We waited in line. Finally we made it and the lady greeted us as she took our bags.

"Cute couple," She said. I blushed.

"Thank you!"

We finally made it out, just carrying our small carry-on bags. We walked over to the long line for security. The man at the front took our ids and turned them over, handing them back and waving us into the next line. Because I was still only seventeen, and Hamzah was 18, he was the legal adult on this trip. After what felt like ages, we finally got scanned and approved, getting our bags, coats, and shoes back from out of the bins. Finally, we were done with the lines, and only had to find our gate. I checked my phone and we were doing well in time, it was only seven thirty. I smiled as me and Hamzah searched for our gate.

"N-3," I said, clicking my tongue and looking around.

"There's N-5," Hamzah said, pointing. We walked over and started to go back.

"There's N-4 and... N3!" I said. We walked over. It wasn't that crowded, but crowded enough that we sat next to some random people. We waited for a bit, just clicking around on our phones or chatting. Hamzah held my hand as I played with his long fingers, which made him laugh.

"Now boarding, First class and young children." I sighed, wasn't us. We waited for a couple more to get called before we got called and got into the plane. The stiff, clean smell of the aircraft filled my nose. We had gotten a three person seat. I took the window while Hamzah took the middle. A young lady took the seat beside him. We buckled up, and me and Hamzah chatted before they announced we would take off. The plane started driving around the runway. I held my breath as the engines got louder and louder, and suddenly we were rolling fast against the ground, faster and faster until - the plane took off into the air. We went up, my stomach feeling like it was flying as we went farther and farther up until we were level with the clouds. I held Hamzahs hand and we sat in our seats, chatting. I still couldn't quite believe what a simple hobby had me doing now. Going on a spontaneous trip to see my friends, on an airplane, with practically the love of my life. I smiled at Hamzah as I realized how lucky I was to have him. He looked confused but smiled back, holding my hand tighter. The sound of the flight attendant explaining the safety features came over the speaker. I flipped through one of the magazines in the seat. Once everything was comfortable, I leaned my head back and slowly fell asleep, my hand still wrapped around Hamzahs.

"No, please leave me alone." I heard Hamzah say. My eyes slowly fluttered open. The pretty young woman next to Hamzah was attempting to talk to him.

"Come on, I'm way prettier than her. I'll treat you right," She said. I shuddered, and turned to face her.

"She's more beautiful than you could ever be," Hamzah sneered at the woman. I smiled. In my opinion she was probably prettier than me. I was quite glad Hamzah hadn't thought that, though. I squeezed Hamzahs hand to let him know I was awake. He turned to face me, still frowning.

"This lady is such a jerk, don't listen to her," He said. I smiled.

"Thank you Hamzah." He smiled his adorably goofy smile back at me, and shot the woman one last glare before he leaned back and closed his eyes, putting on headphones and drifting into a light sleep. I smiled at him and leaned back as well, going onto my phone and texting freakshow to let them know we were on the plane. I texted with a couple friends for a while, and then checked tiktok. I made a quick plane tiktok, but kept it in my drafts so when we all met it would be a surprise. I smiled and looked at Hamzahs sleeping figure again. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have met someone like him. The smile stayed stuck on my face as I leaned back, and shut my eyes.
