I'm still awake when the alarm goes off. Carly moans and slowly sits up. We get dressed and head out. Today is Saturday, which means I don't have to be anywhere or do anything. Which means I get to see Augustus.
Except for the fact that I forgot Carly said she was taking me to the doctors, and she always is true to her word.
You know I love nice and considerate people who worry and look out for you, but at the same time, I hate them. Despise them.
We walk through the empty hallways. Everyone is still asleep at this time on Saturday. We take the elevator up to the eighteenth floor. When we a reach the front desk of the health department, Carly checks me in and we wait in the waiting room. I swear, sometimes she acts like my mother.
We wait for ten minutes before my doctor, Dr. Castro, calls out my name and greets us warmly.
"So June, what seems to be the problem today?" He says, as we walk back to his room.
Carly answers for me,"She's been having severe nightmares lately, she's woken up screaming three times this week. It's been going on for like, a month now. It seems to be getting worse"
"And what are these nightmares about, June?" He emphasizes my name and throws Carly a sideways glance, who blushes and stays quiet this time.
"I never can remember any of them after I wake up." I lie, hoping he'll let me go sooner.
He checks my vitals and all the while asks me if I have any fears, phobias, or if I've been doing anything stressful lately. I answer no to every question he asks.
"Well, I have no idea what may be causing this then, it may just be normal. I want you to come and sleep here tonight, though, so I can monitor you while you sleep. Then we can see if we can put you on some medication that may help. Until then, have a nice day!" Dr. Castro leads us to the front desk and waves goodbye.The whole thing takes less then ten minutes.
"Ugh. I have to sleep here tonight? Thanks a lot Carly. Seriously?" I say as I cast her a glare.
"Hey, Im just looking out for you." She says and smiles. "Now, let's go see what Agustus is up to, shall we?"
