A month passed since I joined the academy. I had a set schedule for my classes so I wouldn't be burnt out doing them all in one day. I could feel my body getting stronger, physically and magically. I almost felt ready to take on the world.

I knew that was only the euphoria from the magic coursing through me. I'm learning so much and picking up quickly. As Professor Rodnik had predicted, I could learn every magic available.

The only one I was having difficulties with was my visions. When I would try and force myself to have them, I would get nothing. On the other hand, just barely locking gazes with someone walking towards me would trigger a vision. It's always spontaneous and unexpected that I sometimes get startled.

Speaking of magic, Myla has now moved on to advanced Earth magic with me. We're learning new things I didn't even know was possible. If we so desired, we could move and shape a whole new island. Of course, it's not recommended, but it's possible.

Striker finally found a way to get the poison from his plant and refine it. He's in the testing stage to see if his calculations for his hypothesis actually works. I feel bad for the small animals he's testing on, though. He assures me that everything is fine and that someone is on standby in case something goes wrong.

Since he had started his testing, I haven't been going to his classroom. I couldn't watch what he was doing. Instead, I've been with Professor Rodnik getting extra lessons in light magic. If it's not light magic, it's healing magic with the Healers. I never realized how many people actually get hurt while training.

I was given an extended break after using my magic to close a three inch gash on someone's arm. He was at weapons training and his partner missed and got his upper arm instead of the padding.

Today, I decided to bring some lunch to Professor Rodnik for him and I to eat in his office. I wanted to discuss with him my concerns and problems with not being able to control the visions I have. He may not be an Orelie, but at least I'll have someone to talk to and practice with.

I balanced the tray and knocked. He called for me to enter. I carefully opened the door, trying not to spill the food.

"Oh! Allow me!" He was by my side in a few seconds. He took the tray and ushered me inside. "What can I help you with, Kyrene?" He shut the door and took the tray with us to his desk.

I sat and took a piece of bread. "I wanted to talk with you about something; my visions. I can't control them. I've tried several times with my friends and a few others, but I can't get it right. The only time it works is at completely random times."

He scratched at his chin. "I wish there was more I could do. I'm not a trained Orelie. I don't know how to guide you with this. The best I can do is be a practice partner."

I sighed, defeated. "That's better than nothing. Now I can stop staring at my friends and creeping them out." We chuckled and started eating.

Half way through, I glanced up. Professor Rodnik just happened to glance up at the same time. The world vanished and I was now seeing a very young version of him. He was graduating from the academy, surrounded by so many people. Quite a few of them even had white hair like me, no matter what age they were.

I blinked and came back to reality. "You okay in there?" Professor Rodnik asked with a raised eyebrow. "What did you see?"

"You were graduating," I replied. "There were so many people. Elves, Dwarfs, you name it. A few of them had white hair like me." I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Seeing the past again," he smiled. "That was a very long time ago. The world had more Orelie than you could count. It was shortly after that they began to disappear. Do you know what an Orelie's most distinguished features are?"
