As the party began to wind down, the bikers had work to do in the morning and Isis had to get back to her shop while the girls had to get back to school, Isis and Lyla began helping to clean up. Isis told her oldest to go around and thank everyone for coming to her party and for the gift they gave her. The happy teen was more than happy to do so. Each biker just laughed, hugged her, and said it was their pleasure before wishing her a happy birthday once more.
Ashanti watched closely and realized her sister had been correct. These bikers treated them more like family than their own father did. Even though their grandpa bought them stuff and tried to be around, he wasn't in their life nearly as much as she thought he should be. Business always came first, that's what her mother always said and its what she and her sister both noted as they got older. But these wild bikers made time for them. It was crazy to think about.
People buzzed about what an amazing cake Gemma had bought for Leia. The teen thanked her several times making the older woman smile. The Queen let Isis take the cake home with her earning a thanks from the younger woman. Most of the bikers that had their own homes, began to filter out to head home. Isis told Happy she'd see him at home before taking what was left of the birthday cake out to her car. Leia stood in the lot and looked between her new bike and her new car. She was having a hard time deciding which one to drive home first. Happy suggested the car since it was getting dark.
He didn't want her getting hurt on her new bike since she'd never driven a bike at night before. Leia nodded at his reasoning and opted to take his advice. The teen loaded her stuff into the backseat of her new car before walking around hugging people again. Gemma was the last person she hugged and she thanked the Queen for throwing her such an amazing birthday party and letting her know how much it had meant and how much fun she'd had. Gemma just smiled before the teen left to follow her mother home.
Ashanti rode with her mother. Clay had some business to discuss with a few of the bikers, Happy included, so they headed into the chapel to talk in peace. Lyla finished cleaning up the kitchen while Opie's kids sat around waiting to go home. They had school the next day just as Tara and Jax's boys. She'd already left with the smaller children while Jax remained behind for this discussion.
"Hey, Leia?" Isis asked as they were bringing in the gifts from Leia's car.
"Yeah, mom?"
"You really had fun tonight? You liked all your gifts?" Isis questioned.
"It was an awesome night. I loved everything I got." Leia retorted, "I can't wait to really start using the camera Chibs got me. I might use some of the money I received for camera accessories."
"I'm glad you had fun." Isis stated.
"Mom, I know you always did your best to make our birthdays as good as possible." Leia said, "We actually have this big extended family who seem to really care about us and want us around. It's a nice feeling."
"It is, isn't it?" Isis chuckled, "You should probably get a shower and get ready for bed. I've got to open up the shop tomorrow and you girls have school to get to."
"Yes, mom." Leia said before taking her stuff to her room.
Isis was already in bed asleep by the time Happy came home. He slipped out of his kutte and then his clothes before climbing into bed. She rolled over and snuggled into his side bringing a smile to his face as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and closed his eyes. The smell of coffee woke him from his slumber. It was nearly time for him to get up so he crawled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to take himself a quick shower.
She was in the middle of making breakfast, pancakes with sausage links, when people began to emerge from their rooms. Leia wanted to go on about the camera Chibs had bought her. It had more features than what she'd originally thought and was very excited at getting to learn how to properly use the machine. It made Isis smile to hear how excited her daughter was at something other than motorcycles. Ashanti was excited about the progress she'd made in one of the games she was playing on her game system.
