Jeongin's POV

"Right now?" I asked the staff member who had just informed me about a meeting with our manager. "Just me?"

She nodded, and led me to a conference room where my manager was waiting. He looked stern, unlike his usual self.

"Hi. What's up?"

He looks up as I take a seat.

"I'll try to make this quick and get straight to the point. Lee Yeona? What's your relationship with her?"

Surprised and a little concerned, a lean back a little, tilting my head. This situation felt familiar, but only through stories. This ... this happened to Felix when he became closer with Jason, I'm pretty sure.

"We're just friends. What's happening?" I stand up slowly, as my head races, thinking about the timing of this meeting.

"It seems that if she's on my radar now, then she's on other people's radars. And to be on the radar like this, you know what that means, legally."

"She's not a problem, you don't need to worry about her," I tell him, with a hint of force in my voice. I pull out my phone, and start quickly texting her, knowing that all of the things that happened to Jason would happen to her, just as quickly. I remembered how Felix was frantic about how lawyers were already at Jason's home, and he had to get over there to make sure nothing sketchy would happen. If that's how quickly it happened for him, the first person to get into a relationship of us 8, then it would be quicker for me.

I begin typing at lightning speed, as my manager tries to continue to slow me down, to tell me that this is how contracts at a company work, whatever.

Yeona! Yeona don't sign anything. Holy shit, Yeona don't do anything, I'll be there soon. I'm so sorry, just don't say anything don't sign anything! I'll be home in 10 minutes! Please wait for me okay?

I yank the door open and glare at my manager for his role in slowing me down from stopping Yeona from signing things without her own access to a lawyer.

The next ten minutes go by in a blur, and I find myself at home, racing upstairs. From the fourth floor I can already hear people banging on the door, yelling Yeona's name.

I arrive and pull one of them by the shoulder away from the door.

"Very professional of you all, with an occupation as highly educated as your own," I snarl at them.

"What kind of tactic is this? You're supposed to send whatever you need to send to the recipient, and let them calmly sign or refuse to sign whatever they want in the presence of a witness, not shock someone into signing under pressure."

I tear the folder from the hands of an annoyed looking lawyer, before growling, "Leave."

"Get out of the way," one lawyer says, practically chuckling. "We're just doing what we've been told to do by your own company."

"You've made your delivery. Now leave," I can feel the blood pumping in my ears. "Next time, consider sending an email."

"Whatever rookie, she's going to have to sign that if you ever want to see her again anyway." They smirk at me and turn to leave. I wait until they've gotten into the elevator, and the doors close. I breathe in and out a couple times to calm myself down.

The door opens a couple inches. I turn and see Yeona peering out to check that the coast is clear. I go inside and she closes the door, before leaning against it. She is trembling a little, but overall just looks confused. I can tell she is trying to maintain a clear head. She exhales sharply, before saying, "What.. in the world just happened?"
