It Just Happened That Way || JEONGIN from skz!

A/N: What?? A second chapter upload in one day? I don't know what's gotten into me! Hahaha

Anyways, thanks for the support, as ever. I just wanted to ask -- would people be fine with me changing the title of this? I just feel like I hate the title! LOL I chose it really quickly without thinking much about it. And now i'm realizing that it's just terribly cheesy and not informative at all. Any suggestions? Thanks :) 

Arriving at the venue, there's already a long line, crowds of people, wrapping around the surrounding city blocks. The two of us, obscured by our masks and hats, slip past the lines to the back of the hall. There are fans loitering there too, hoping to catch a glimpse of the boys, not knowing that they'd been inside for a while now. They give us curious and frustrated looks to see security escort us inside. I can't help but to feel a little smug about how special we were.

Thankfully, Jason says exactly those words ("we're so ~special~") while wiggling his eyebrows, so I didn't feel too bad for being smug.

Laughing, we go inside and are led through long hallways, all bustling with activity, until we reach double doors into a big backstage dressing room. Mirrors and lights line the whole perimeter of the room, room dividers section off dressing areas, clothing racks are tucked into every remaining corner, and the boys are sitting in the center of it all. None of them are sitting idly — each of them had two to three stylists and makeup artists working on their looks. I spot Jeongin among the crowd and my heart skips.

I didn't often see him in stage makeup; in fact, this had probably been the second time I saw him in person in stage makeup. He looked...ethereal. He had black hair for this tour, but it was pushed back to show his forehead. He had piercingly gray contacts on, with a subtle smoky eye look. His eyebrows were sharp and tidy, and his lips were...well. I had to look away to control myself. Snap out of it, Jesus Christ.

I looked around and saw that Jason had already snuck away from me to surprise Felix, who was filming a Skz Talker video. The commotion he caused when Felix jumped drew all eyes to them — all except Jeongin's. Jeongin knew right when he saw Jason that I was here too. His head whipped around to search for me, and his beautiful eyes caught mine. They twinkled in crescent shapes with his big smile, drawing complaints from his stylists who were working on his makeup. Profusely apologizing and bowing to them, he got up quickly and speed walked over to me. With a huge hug, he wrapped his arms around me, swinging me around.

"Yeona!!!!! I missed you so much!!!"

I try to say, "I can't breathe!" But my mouth is muffled by his tight hug, so I opt to just hug him back. Words can come later.

Finally, he pulls away and, as usual, cups my face with a hand to brush his thumb along my cheekbone. I beam up at him, and then am suddenly aware of all of the eyes watching. He sees my eyes look from side to side, and sheepishly hops a step away from me, casually lifting his hand in apology to the spectators.

I giggle a little bit, suddenly hit by an adrenaline rush. It was the first time we were being so open about our relationship in front of so many watching eyes. I knew that these staff members were expected to stay hush-hush about anything that happened backstage, but I'm sure that wasn't an airtight seal.

"How's all the prep going?" I ask him, as we find a small couch to sit on. Jeongin is distracted, trying to ask for 5 minutes with me from the stylists. I wait for him to get approval for these five minutes in the tight schedule. At last, someone nods, rolling their eyes. He giddily punches the air because of his success, and finally sits down next to me. Exhaling and calming down, he replies, "It is all going fine. Everything is perfect, dare I say, because you are here." His eyes are forever crescent shapes from his big smile, and I roll my eyes and teasingly shove him for the cheesiness.
