Dad had arranged for us to meet at Rose Gardens, so we could have a proper conversation. The place sounded fancy, so with Reena's help, I choose something good to wear.

I laid my clothes - a black simple dress, and black pumps - on the bed. I went into the bathroom and took an enjoyable, warm . I wrapped my towel around myself and entered into the room. I shrugged on the clothes, and left the room.

"Reena! I'm going out! I'll be back soon!" I yelled, then made my way outside to my car. I thought I should walk, instead. Rose Gardens wasn't too far.

Only a single car drove past, as I sprinted down the misty street. It was getting really shadowy and silent. I found myself secretly wishing nervously that I'd taken my car out earlier.

My footsteps rang in the silence, as I hurried down the street. I heard a noise behind me. I stopped hesitantly. There it was again. It sounded like footsteps. Fear rushed hotly up my spine and I continued running. I stopped round the corner, breathless and panicked. Curse my bronchitis. I was surprised I was not dead. I sagged against the wall, as I was trying to catch my breath. I must get to the restaurant. Or anywhere safe.

"Oh, God. This isn't happening to me," I whispered. Crouching against the brick wall, I strained my ears, but all I could hear was the pounding of my own heart. Don't panic.

I started jogging again. He was waiting for me, masked with a  knife in his hands.

For a second, my eyes met his. I flung my purse at him. "Take it. There's money in there. Just take it and leave me alone."

He smiled evilly, "its not your money I want, sweet Tyler," he whispered.

He grabbed my arms and pinned them behind my back. He hit my face, and I winced in pain.

"Bastard!" Anger suddenly gave me strength. Twisting round, I slammed my elbows into his ribs. His grip loosened and I kicked him down to the floor and stepped on his sides. I picked up the knife and stabbed his neck.

I picked up my purse, and ran as fast as my legs willed. I wouldn't die. He can't.. No one can kill me. My hair was in my face, and I was sweating.

I got to the restaurant in what seemed like forever. I looked around for dad's table and I rushed to meet him.

"What happened to you?" He asked, panicking.

"Dad, let's go. Please, just let's go," I said, tugging at his arm. He stood up abruptly and followed me to his car.

There was a guy behind him.

"Dad, I was almost killed. This...this guy. He wanted to kill me with a knife. I almost died," I cried. I've never been so scared in my life.

"Calm down. Did you see the man?" Dad asked.

"No, he was masked," my voice was shaky.

"You need to get to somewhere save. Please drive her home."

The guy put his arms around me, and I looked up at him. My vision was blur because of the sweat mixed with hot tears in my eyes.

"Come on," he said,"I'll get you home."

He led me to a car, and I entered the back seat.

"I know where you live," he said, as I was about to give him the . I mean he worked for dad, right? I relaxed in my comfortable seat.
