Keith

"That's the last of them." Keith said as he put the final box on the floor. He took a look around the apartment and chose his room, which was the door down the hall to the right. "Thanks again Shiro for helping me." Keith said and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "You're welcome." He smiled and placed the box down on the floor in Keith's room.

"I'm gonna miss you." Shiro mumbled and wiped away tears that were threatening to stream down at any moment. Keith smiled at him sympathetically and hugged him. "I'm gonna miss you too." He mumbled against Shiro's chest. Shiro gave him a great embrace and left after a while.

Keith huffed and started unpacking. He wasn't too worried about who his roommate will be. He just didn't want them to be loud and nosy. He can settle with a quiet shy roommate as long as they know their boundaries. It's not like he had any secrets to hide;  It's just that he doesn't want his roommate to, y'know, touch his shit. Keith isn't a violent person but he will get physical when needed.

After unpacking the last box he decided to get a few things at the corner store by to snack on. He put on his red vans, grabbed his wallet, and walked out the dorm. He threw the wallet up and down and caught it each time. Keith walked out of the dorm area and made his way to the corner store. He opened the door to a familiar scent and an obnoxious bell ringing. The store was somewhat barren. It was quiet, you can practically hear the air vents humming. 'S not like Keith was complaining, he preferred the quiet than the noise anyway. He walked to the snack section and grabbed a couple of bags of chips.

"What kind of chips do you recommend to give someone you don't know?"

Keith didn't really take notice of the voice because he thought he was trying to get someone else's attention. There were a couple people in the store, but it wasn't a lot. He tensed a bit when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Keith looked up at the person and saw that they were nervously smiling at him. "What?" Keith quirked a brow. He didn't mean to make it sound rude but he was thrown into a communicative situation without armor. He couldn't prepare himself just to speak to an absolute stranger he knows nothing about. "Sorry about bothering you, I just wanted to know what kind of chips you recommend giving to someone." He sheepishly chuckled and rubbed the back of his head.

"Well, what do you think you should give them?" Keith asked as he grabbed another bag of chips. "I don't know. He's a roommate I haven't met yet so, I thought about giving him a little something something will make a wonderful good first impression."

Keith hummed in response, "I recommend you get him plain chips since you don't know what kind of chips he likes."

The person nodded and grabbed a bag of plain chips which was right next to the hot Cheetos. "You sure like spicy chips." He chuckled.

"I know. It's an addiction I couldn't get over." Keith mumbled. Keith heard the person say thank you and left to pay for his items. He thought about what the guy, he was talking to said. He groaned knowing he wanted to make a somewhat good impression. "Fuck it." He grumbled and grabbed a bag of plain classic chips. Once he bought his items, he was off. The walk back to college wasn't too troublesome. He was still calming down from that unexpected conversation.

How does a stranger talk so calmly and openly? Keith would be lying if he said he wasn't jealous of how brave and sociable the tan guy was. He stood in line for a few minutes just so the guy he helped could finish his conversation with the cashier. He didn't rush their conversation because he wasn't really in a rush, but he was tired so he cleared his throat and the person apologized and left. Keith walked up the stairs feeling his heart rate go faster with every step he took. His roommate was bound to be in the dorm now.

Keith stood in front of his dorm room and unlocked the door. He twisted the doorknob and heard a muffled voice. Oh, so his roommate is there, he just doesn't want to talk. Alright, it's a win win 'cause Keith didn't want to socialize anyway.

Keith closed the door and made his way to his room in the dorm. He sat on his bed and took out his snacks and drinks. He had Takis, Hot Cheetos, and Coca-Cola. Oh, and the classic chips he bought for his roommate. He heard a knock at his door. "Come in." Keith said loud enough so the person could hear it.

The person twisted the door knob and pushed open the door. Keith was shocked when he saw who it is. The person was shocked as well. "This just took an unexpected turn." He mumbled and held the chips he bought up, "Take it." Keith threw the bag he bought for roommate and saw him catch it.

"Thanks." The tan boy smiled and threw the bag he bought for his roommate at Keith. "I'm Lance." He walked over to Keith and held out his hand. "Keith," He responded dryly. Lance chuckled, "Next time I'll get you hot chips instead."

Keith snorted. "I'll buy you a whole bag of Doritos." Lance laughed and sat next to Keith. "Well, I hope the meeting at the store was a good enough first impression."

Keith hummed and opened the bag, Lance bought him, and ate a chip. "It was." He says as he grabbed another chip from the bag.

"Weird how we both came up with the same idea." Lance fiddled with his fingers, but kept his eyes on Keith. "I just took your idea." Keith shrugged.

"Oh really?!" Lance said astonished. Keith laughed and almost choked on the chips that were still in his mouth. "Wanna watch a movie later on?" Lance jabbed his thumb over his shoulder. "Sure." Keith smiled softly.
