When Jaemin wakes up early again he quickly makes Jeno his breakfast. He feels extremely guilty about not having breakfast with him everyday like he used to but he's been secretly meeting his new friend, his new friend that makes his heart beat just a little faster. He grabs the muffins he made the night before and wraps them up cutely and heads out the door. He always stops, feeling the guilt weigh him down as soon as the door closes. Their friendship is starting to feel strained and he doesn't like it at all. It hurts to think he's the cause for this when he is so deeply in love with a man that he believes would never love him back. That is one of the reasons he's allowing himself to fall so hard for this other boy. He's cute and sweet and just amazing, he's not Jeno and never would be able to fill that void but he's still amazing.
He makes his way to the little bench they meet at almost everyday. Renjun was sitting with a strong coffee for Jaemin and a hot cocoa for himself.
"Good morning Jae." He says cutely with a little pink on his cheeks, mostly because it's getting chilly out.
"Good morning Junie. Are you cold?" Renjun nods.
"Yeah the mornings are starting to be colder again, maybe you could make me breakfast at your place?" Renjun asks boldly.
"Well um yeah maybe, soon. I have to make sure it's ok with my roommate first." Renjun just hums and hands over Jaemin's drink.
"I missed seeing you yesterday." Jaemin said as he watched Renjun's cheeks change color again.
"Ugh, you're too cute." This of course made him blush more.
"I missed you too though." They sit in silence for a few minutes before Jaemin gets his nerve up.
"Renjun, would you want to go out with me Friday night? You know like a date?" Renjun almost chokes on his muffin.
"Jaemin I think you are so sweet and caring and I do want to go on a date with you, but." Jaemin's heart stops for a minute not thinking there would be a but.
"I have to be honest and there is another person that I also really like a lot and I may want to give him a chance as well. And I know this sounds horrible and selfish but it's just how I feel." Jaemin chuckles.
"Don't stress Junie. It's a date, I'm not asking you to marry me. But I am glad that you told me. I'll be honest too. There is another boy I really like a lot and he doesn't feel the same. I know that liking someone else won't fill the void but I actually like you a lot. I don't know how but you both fit just right in my heart and if you can accept that we should be fine until you decide who you want to be serious with." Renjun smiles softly and kisses Jaemins hand.
"Thank you for understanding."

After an exhausting morning Jaemin is so ready for this day to be done but alas it's only noon. He's sitting across from Jeno at the cafe again feeling sleepy. When Jeno notices he gets up and sits next to him, he taps his shoulder and smiles at Jaemin.
"Sleep, you need a nap. I'll wake you up when it's time to go back to class." Jaemin wants to argue but also melt into a puddle at how sweet this is.
"Thank you." He says softly with a slight blush, Jaemin doesn't know but this does something to Jeno's insides. Jeno leans back and gets comfortable with Jaemin on his shoulder and plays a game on his phone until it's time to leave. Honestly neither wants this to end any time soon. Jaemin is enjoying this closeness that is so familiar yet so distant. They've been even closer in the past but lately Jeno is not as touchy as he used to be, it's almost as if he is disgusted by him.
Jeno too misses this, he's pulled away a lot because his heart can't handle being so close and not being able to hold and kiss him the way he really wants to.

"Jaemin, baby wake.. oh shit." Now Jeno has the red cheeks but at least Jaemin is still sleeping, he thinks anyway.
"Jaemin, buddy wake up." There that's better right? He asks himself while Jaemin stirs awake. He yawns and stretches and Jeno thanks the heavens that he's good at not showing emotions because he really wants to coo at this cutie beside him.
"Thank you Jen, I feel so much better." He smiles softly as Jeno starts to get up.
"I'll walk you to class." He holds his hand out for Jaemin and they both feel the electricity.
"I've missed you Jaemin." Jeno says surprising the other.
"We never see each other in the morning and I'm always messing up at night and I just want to hang out with you." He stops, looking at Jaemin.
"Can we go to a movie Friday night?" Jeno asks hopeful but his smile drops when he sees the uncomfortable way Jaemin is acting.
"I well, I have a d-date Friday." Other than the slight raise in Jeno's eyebrow you would think he didn't even hear.
"Oh well, congrats. I guess we can figure something else out." He walks away before Jaemin can say anything else and honestly this is not how he planned on telling him but really it shouldn't even be a big deal, Jeno doesn't have feelings for him right? He sulkily goes to class.

Jeno on the other hand is spiraling out of control. He goes home skipping the rest of the day. When Renjun texts him, wondering why he isn't in class he doesn't respond. Even Renjun being a cute little angel can't bring him out of this funk.
He knows it's technically just a date but neither one of them have really dated anyone else before and this hits him hard.
He's cried all day and now that it's time for Jaemin to come home he quickly puts on his workout clothes and goes for a run.
He runs into the night until his muscles are shaking and he can hardly breath, he finds himself in front of Renjun's house knocking.
Haechan, one of Renjun's housemates opens the door and quickly shouts for Renjun.
He noticed right away his puffy sad face.
"Jeno are you ok?" He can't speak, he just shakes his head no and allows Renjun to step Out and hold him. He cries on the smaller boys shoulder, not really able to control himself.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jeno shakes his head no again.
"That's ok, you can tell me if you want to later on." Jeno was happy for the privacy as he let Renjun sit down so he could lay his head in his lap. He softly ran his fingers through his hair humming quietly and bringing Jeno the comfort he needed. Renjun didn't question why he didn't see him in class figuring it had something to do with whatever this is.

After an hour or so when Jeno woke up from crying himself to sleep he was startled to see that he held Renjun up this whole time.
"I am so sorry." He says getting up quickly.
"Not a problem at all." Renjun smiles softly.
"Thank you, I'm not really ready to talk about it but I really appreciate your help." He hugs Renjun and jogs away slowly. It's now late when he gets home and he's more than relieved that Jaemin will be sleeping.
