Jeno lied. He's not sure what it is but there is something he absolutely hates about this arrangement, but he pretends for their happiness. He's not jealous, at least he wouldn't call it that.

He goes on about his days as normal as he possibly can, he tries to stay the best friend Jaemin wants him to be even if it kills him and he still really enjoys getting to know Renjun, it's when he's alone that the problem arises. He gets anxious and just upset in general, the more time that goes by the harder it is for him.
He starts running more and more and exhausting himself when he can, it's the only way he can sleep well. He tries to hide it from Jaemin so he doesn't worry. His eating has also reduced in the past week, he's just not as hungry as he used to be.
He just feels strongly that their happiness should come first so he will do whatever it takes to make them happy even at his own expense.
Today they are going to spend together as friends, this was of course Renjun's idea. They are not allowed to show affection other than the friendly kind.
They are going to a haunted house near the pier then they will eat some unhealthy junk food after.
When Renjun arrives it's Jaemin who answers the door while Jeno is still in his room giving himself a pep talk.
He walks out and smiles, the warmth radiating in his smile is enough to satisfy them both until he can sulk behind their backs.
When they get there Renjun of course plans on being the filling in their little sandwich because he is already scared, which they both think is the cutest thing since he planned this whole outing.
Jeno goes first, with Renjun gripping his waist tightly and Jaemin has one hand on Renjun's hip and the other in Jeno's hand. It sounds complicated but they make it work. Jeno isn't scared a bit in the moment, not only is he just strong in these kinds of things he also feels like nothing could hurt him when he's being held by these two. He knows the feeling won't last so he plans to enjoy it as much as possible.
After they got past the second jump scare with Renjun practically peeing himself and Jaemin laughing his ass off Jeno contemplated taking the emergency exit so Renjun doesn't die from fear.
"Should we get out Junie?" He asks softly as they stop to the side to let others through. Renjun shakes his head no.
"I'll be ok, yeah it scares me but I have you two who I know would never let me get hurt and that's enough." Jeno and Jaemin smile softly at him then each other. When they lock eyes they have a hard time pulling away but when they do they carry on like nothing happened.

After about 6 more scares it's over and the cute little one in the middle couldn't be happier, Jaemin too, it finally got the best of him as well. They walked along the pier, hand in hand. Renjun didn't know if he would ever want to let go. They got corn dogs and pretzels and sat and ate on a bench together sharing what they could. It was honestly a magical night for all of them because even Jeno forgot his troubles for a while.
"Renjun you should sleep over. Since you're scared, you know." Jaemin says as Renjun looks away nervously.
"I mean a completely platonic friendly sleep over, we can make a pillow fort in the living room and cuddle." Renjun really liked this idea, Jeno wasn't so sure but who was he to argue.

When they got back to their apartment Jaemin started with making the fort right away while Jeno went to his room and got Junie some clothes to wear. In both of their opinions he looks so cute in Jeno's big sweater and baggy sweat pants. When Jeno said goodnight and started walking towards his room Jaemin grabbed his hand which sent up those little sparks he's been feeling all night. He's not too sure if he can handle this situation.
"This was your sleep over I'll just go." He says quietly backing up until Renjun walks up and slaps him in the ass.
"Come on big boy, I've never gotten to experience a sleep over with you guys and I want you here too." He pouts a little at the end and of course it works.
As it turned out, what was supposed to be Renjun in the middle turned into Jeno in the middle with the two cuties sleeping on him. Jaemin, as brave as he was trying to be had a little residual fear as soon as the lights went out and he is also never going to argue with cuddling with Jeno.
When morning came Jeno woke up warm and cozy to Renjun's head on his tummy and Jaemin was breathing hotly in the crook of his neck. It was just enough and too much at the same time. He didn't dare move for a multitude of reasons but of course the number one was the fact that he didn't want it to end, so he laid there with a full bladder for another half hour before Jaemin stirs.
"Mm, I don't ever want to get up. We should cuddle all day. Can we? Just stay like this all day together? We can watch movies or something?" Jeno couldn't say no to his excitement.
"Of course, if Junie wants to we can." He says smirking, while Jaemin pouts.
"What about what I want?" And damn Jeno has a very strong urge to kiss him hard, but alas Renjun saves the day and woke up just in time.
"Good morning." He says stretching. Both wish him a good morning then Jeno pushes them both away in favor of relief and heads to the bathroom.
After Jaemin talks Renjun into staying they fix the pillows so they can sit up a bit and welcome Jeno back with open arms and each take their turn in the bathroom.
The day was needlessly filled with softness and cuddles. It was beautiful and perfect and Jeno didn't mind one bit that Renjun was joining their traditional weekend thing. He thought that he made a perfect addition, almost too perfect.
When it ended later that night Renjun had decided he should go home and Jaemin offered to take him so Jeno stayed home to clean up.
It was almost in an instant that the reality set in, that this was all an illusion and life isn't going to be perfect like this had felt. That no matter what happened Jaemin was still just his best friend and the thought that it was all he would ever be, hurt even more.
