Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
So just a little disclaimer here, since I don't really know other cultures that well I try to make my stories kind of ambiguous. So like I don't put the country they live in so you can just kind of imagine it where you like. Also I do tend to write things that reflect American culture more since I am from here, but that's only because I'm not that familiar with other cultures and don't want to screw it up. So yeah I hope that helps a little.
Also MERRY CHRISTMAS AGAIN... 🎄

"Jae, can you please hurry and take the turkey out of the oven?" Taeyong says frantically as he's running around their kitchen. Jaehyun just chuckles and does what he's told. Ever since they decided to hold Christmas this year Taeyong has been a bit of a wreck, even though it was his idea.
After running around for hours Jaehyun finally traps him by the counter.
"Baby, take a moment and breath. Everything is going to be fine but I need you to be fine." He kisses him softly on the lips and effectively it does a lot to calm the other.
"I love you." He sighs out as Jae hugs him.
"Nobody expects perfection, everyone that's coming either loves you already or will love you when this is over. Everyone coming here just needs family." Taeyong smiles softly.
"You're right. I just want everyone to have a happy Christmas." Jaehyun smiles brightly.
"And they will, you're here." Taeyong smacks his shoulder and they both chuckle and get back to work. Soon their friends start coming. Johnny and Ten, Taeil and Doyoung, Yuta and Sicheng. Sicheng of course invited his friends that all join him in the Chinese club, Xiaojun, Kun,Yang Yang, Hendery and Lucas with his boyfriend Jungwoo. Jeno, Jaemin and Renjun have joined as well inviting their friends Chenle and Jisung, and Mark and Haechan. After all have shown up they hear the bell on the bar door ring as someone has opened it. In walks two boys whom none have ever met before.
"Can I help you?" Taeyong asks nicely.
"I'm sorry, we're kind of lost. We just flew in from Japan. I'm Shotoro and this is my friend Sungchan, he was an exchange student there and we came here to see his family but our flight got stuck in this town so we won't make it for Christmas. Anyway, we just need a place to eat and we were hoping you were open." After a few laughs were heard at the table because everyone knew this was exciting news to Taeyong, Jaehyun spoke up.
"Welcome, we were just about to eat Christmas dinner." They shook their heads no.
"Oh no, We couldn't interrupt your family time." The tall one known as sungchan says shyly.
"Oh my god how can you both be so cute. Get over here and sit down." Taeyong says, happy to have more people. Once they finally do Jaehyun stands and clinks his glass to get everyone's attention.
"Ok now that possibly everyone is here I would like to make a toast to us, some of us don't have family anymore for various reasons and some of us just can't make it home. We are all friends here but I do want everyone to just say your name and a little something about yourself.
I'm Jaehyun and with my boyfriend here we own this bar, and we would love it if you all would come around often to eat and drink and also tell your friends about us!" He looks around to everyone and smiles, then gestures for Taeyong.
"Hi, I'm Taeyong and I absolutely love having all of you here. Some of us have had some difficulties throughout our lives or even just recently and I'd like to think that we can all be family for each other." He waves cutely and sits down.
They go all around the table, each person telling a small story about themselves and by the time they are done everyone is starving. There are 23 people here. Most people brought a dish to share, they have American, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Tai food.
After the food Jaehyun goes behind the bar and comes back with a small wrapped package and hands it to Taeyong who quickly tries to hide it.
"We shouldn't do this with people here, they might feel bad we didn't get them anything." He says pouting cutely.
"They are all adults, now open." He says sternly as Taeyong pouts at him. He does as he's told. He holds it in his lap and opens it slow and neat. When he takes the lid off he gasps, his hand covers his mouth as he looks up to see everyone is watching him. He slowly turns to Jae behind him with his eyes closed.
"I-is this what I think it is?" He asks in a higher pitch than usual.
"Open your eyes baby." He slowly does to see Jae on his knee just like he suspected. He fights back a sob but the tears are still flowing.
"Tae, baby, love of my life. Will you do me the honor of spending the rest of yours with me? Will you be my husband?" The silence in the room is unbearable until Taeyong can finally speak.
"Yes of course I will." He says breathless as he reaches over to hug his fiancée.
"I love you." He whispers in Jaehyun's ear while rocking back and forth in his arms.
"I love you too baby." Jeno was tasked with filming it so he of course had received a text warning him to watch so he told his boyfriends who effectively spread it around the table. After a few minutes of everyone cooing at their cuteness Lucas cheered loudly and started a round of applause. When Taeyong and Jaehyun finally broke out of their little bubble they turned to the others.
"How many of you actually knew about this?" Taeyong asks smiling while at least half of them raised their hands. He gasped and looked at Jaehyun who was giggling at his reaction.
As the night went on and the drinks kept coming everyone was mingling and getting to know the new people in their now, very large friend group. Renjun and Chenle were consoling Haechan who at one point realized that Yuta was the one he saw Mark with. That is until he marched up to Yuta's boyfriend and told him that their boyfriends were cheating together, which of course created a little bit of chaos but was quickly cleared up.
"This has to be the best Christmas I've had in a long time." Jeno says quietly to his two boyfriends who are sitting next to him cuddling. Jaemin hums as if he's asking why.
"Because I can finally call you mine." He says looking at Jaemin, before turning to Renjun.
"And I have Renjun too, making me the luckiest person in the world and also we've met all these great people." They both agree and hug his waist before sharing kisses with each other.
Some people don't have traditional families but still have family. They all feel very lucky to be able to say that no matter what, they spent their Christmas with family.
