Ivy sat on her bed, re-reading Sirius's letter for the hundredth time since she got it. It just didn't make sense, Sirius was dead, she saw him die. You can't get letters from the afterlife, can you? Ivy wondered. Just then, Moony walked in. Moony (or Remus Lupin to others) was her new guardian. Moony was a werewolf, He was nervous that he would harm Ivy and had taken a million precautions to make sure she was safe, building a shed, asking Mrs. Weasly to help him make the wolfsbane potion, and asking tonks to look after her on full moons.

Really, Ivy was a quiet girl, and didn't need looking after. She was 13, had silvery blonde hair, soft purple eyes, and freckles spread across her nose and cheeks. She was also a bit pale, even with the amount of time she spent outside. She looked a little bizarre anyways, and it didn't help that she had a large scar on her cheek in the perfect shape of a star. Everywhere she went she attracted stares. She was the second person to have survived a killing curse, the first being her friend (and uncles godson) Harry Potter, who also had a scar. His was shaped like a lightning bolt and it was on his forehead, in Ivy's opinion, he was lucky he could cover his up with his bangs cause it was small.

"Are you alright Ivy?" Asked Moony, he too had been upset by the death of his lover. He had never admitted that they were in love to Ivy but she thought it was obvious and wouldn't mind having two uncles. It had been a month, and in that time, she realized she had alot in common with Moony. They were both very quiet and reserved in their friend groups.

Ivy thought about how to respond to him. "It's just hard to believe he's really gone." She whimpered, she had been thinking and, finally decided that she was going to tell Moony about the letter. "On the last day at hogwarts, I got a letter. And I don't know what to think about it." She handed it to him. He read it and looked up. "Ivy I can't beleive you would choose to do this as a prank." He said. He did look annoyed.

"I'm not making that up. Really, Sirius and I had similar handwriting, but I wouldn't do that as a prank. If I were to do a prank, I would ask one of the weasly twins for ideas and-" Ivy had stopped talking. She had heard a noise. Perhaps it was the thunder, as it was storming outside, but that was very strange sounding thunder.

"Did you hear that?" She asked Moony. Ivy guessed he had heard it, because he too was looking around. The noise was made again. "Probably some stray cat looking for some shelter. "He muttered and turned to leave. "Stay here." He said sternly as he walked away from her room.

Ivy did not stay there. She was very light on her feet and didn't make a noise even on the creaking stair case. She peered over the wall that divided the entry way from the stairs and gasped silently. Moony was hugging a soaking wet man; she couldn't see his face, but he looked familiar, the man turned around and his face beamed at her. She knew who he was, and ran to hug him. "The ones we care about never truly leave us" Sirius whispered to her.
