If Ivy thought she was nervous, she was nowhere near as nervous as Dennis. He gave her a nervous "hello" when she came downstairs from her dormitory, wearing the new sweater Mrs weasly gave her for Christmas. It was dark blue with small pale yellow stars.

She blushed and took his hand as they made their way down to the great hall. They were just about to enter the room that was loud with the sound of people having breakfast. She turned when she heard an obnoxious cackle.

"Dating mud bloods now Black?" A long, drawing voice came from behind her. She turned around and smirked, Draco Malfoy was standing on the top step, he had two hufflepuff first years with him that looked like they didn't want to be there. "Your dates don't exactly look like their having very much fun, are they?" She asked in return.

A couple people around her laughed, Draco looked affronted, then, she closed her eyes, imagining a fist going across his face, she heard a smack, and Draco stumbled a few steps backwards. More laughs. This time she blushed and turned to Dennis. "Let's go." She took his hand and they went out of the grounds.

Dennis walked with her to a clearing in front of the shrieking shack. When they reached the fence line Dennis turned to her and took a deep breath. "Ivy... I was just... well, I know this is cheesy, but I thought, you know. It's Valentine's Day and all so since I already like you I might as well build up the courage and ask... would you like to go out with me?"
(This is how I asked my irl boyfriend out)

Ivy smiled fondly and rolled her eyes, "we're already going out together right now. If you're asking if I'd like to be your girlfriend, I'll need time to think about that."

Dennis exhaled with some form of relief and then frowned, seemingly confused. "Do you like Marie? I've noticed you look at her with a lot of adoration, it's kinda cute."

Ivy sighed, dropped Dennis's hand and then looked away from him. "I just... I like Marie but I also like you. Is there any reason I should have to pick?"

Dennis looked confused for a moment before realization dawned on his face and he laughed, "I don't think so. To be honest I was kinda crushing on Marie too, but I decided to ask you out because I was sort of intimidated by Marie." He admitted sheepishly.

"So... do you wanna go ask her out with me?" Ivy smiled awkwardly. Dennis thought for a moment, and nodded. He took her hand and they went down to the Quidditch store where they assumed Marie would be.

Sure enough, she was standing outside, looking at some Quidditch robes. Dennis called over to her and when she saw them she smiled.

"So, have either of you asked each other out yet?" She smirked knowingly.

"Yes." Ivy began, "and about that... Dennis asked me out and then I admitted that I also liked you, and he said the same thing so... would you go out with us? Like... both of us?" She asked breathless and nervous.

Marie seemed to consider it for a second, then shrugged, "sure, why choose? I've been kind of thinking about doing that anyways for the past few days if you guys weren't going to ask each other out."

Dennis did a little jump of happiness and then slid on the road. Marie and Ivy quickly moved to steady him and they made their way to the three broomsticks to warm up.
