Ivy woke early the next morning. She had the strangest dream, Sirius had come back, it turned out he wasn't dead. She sadly got up and dressed for the day even if they weren't going anywhere. The sky outside her window was dark and cloudy and oddly warm, the idea of rainy weather always made her smile.
She trot downstairs and stopped when she realized... last night hadn't been a dream. There he was, Sirius, sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of tea and the daily prophet in his hands.
"Why the big smile Ivy?" He asked playfully as she joined him at the table with a bowl of oatmeal.
"Just... happy that last night wasn't a dream is all." She responded, looking around. Usually on days before, on, and after the full moon, she was by herself, but if Sirius really was here, then she'd at least have someone to talk to.
"Why do you still get the prophet?" Sirius asked, scanning the front page and setting it down with a look of annoyance. It was a lot of propaganda set on identifying living corpses or reporting suspicious activity, all the while claiming that the ministry had everything under control.
"Hermione once said that it's good to know what your enemies are saying, and while I wouldn't call the Ministry my enemies they definitely are getting on my nerves." She chuckled and stared at her bowl of oatmeal.
"Sirius... how did you learn how to become an animagus?" She asked.
She gave her a look of understanding, "yes I saw your form the night it happened. I could teach you if you'd like but it would take a lot of dedication."
She nodded eagerly, "I'll do it, I can be dedicated I just want to know how to control it!"
Sirius chuckled, "slow down and give me a chance to eat breakfast first."

It took a couple days, the hardest part was imagining her form and while that took a while to remember the details of it, she had managed to get it down eventually. Not perfect but there was always time during the school year to practice.
Speaking of the school year, Ivy found the day to leave for the train approaching quicker than anticipated and far too soon she was pulling her trunk out onto a train station trolley and pushing her way through platform 9 and 3/4.
She met up with Marie and Dennis, blushing when she saw the two, although for reasons she couldn't quite figure out. Sirius and Remus left her before she went through the platform to avoid possible exposure to death eaters.
The 3 talked idly in their compartment about a multitude of topics before the tone switched to more serious things.
"Ivy? Are you alright?" Marie asked when she noticed Ivy had stopped talking.
"I need to tell you guys something." She said, scooting closer and grasping their hands, pulling them together. "Sirius is alive." She murmured.
She quickly relayed the story of what happened that night before the castle came into view and they switched into their robes.
