CLARY POV:

"I am proud to announce the daughters of Idris," Boomed the voice of Octavian Blackthorn through the television that sat I front of her, her sister and her mom.

"First we have:

From Westervelt Sarah Maplewood and Annie Miller! Congratulations ladies!"

After that, all the names just blurred together as Clary tried to ignore the increasing pressure that her twin was applying on their joined hands.

Finally, their province was next on the list.

"From Liberty we have Daisy White and..." he paused as he glanced down at his list to see what was the next name. "Lydia Fairchild!"

Clary squealed with joy and glanced at her sister who was frozen in place. Lydia was shocked. Clary could tell from her twin's expression that the information they had all received in a matter of less than two seconds was still being processed in Lydia's brain.

Their mother clapped her hands and stood up. The most radiant smile shone on her face. It was the most happy Clary had seen Jocelyn since her father and brother had died. They both had been whipped until they bled out leaving Jocelyn to take care of two three year old girls by herself.

Clary hugged her sister tightly, a few tears slipping down her cheeks. Lydia getting into the selection was great but it also meant that she wouldn't see her for around three months. Jocelyn broke up the sisterly moment with:

"We should celebrate! I'll invite Luke over!"

Luke was a family friend that had helped with everything when the Fairchilds lost Valentine and Jonathan.

Clary smiled to herself. She had long suspected that Luke and Jocelyn had feelings that were more than friendship towards each other. Since you weren't allowed to remarry then it was impossible for them to get together without the possibility of them getting caught and possibly whipped. That's how Jonathan and Valentine had died. They had been caught stealing some clothes for Clary and Lydia during an especially hard time for their family. The guards had tied their wrists to poles not caring about the protests that were arousing because there was a five year old getting tortured in front of the whole city.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Two hours later, Clary rushed down the stairs quickly glancing at her watch:

11:57

She had one minute to get down to the stables. Dashing out of the front door, she furiously ran a hand through her messy curls, trying to make them look presentable.

She took a few calming breaths before stepping through the stable doors. There, standing in front of her, was a beautiful boy. Shading over his cloudy grey eyes, was his hair, that looked like freshly spilled ink. His pink lips contrasted amazingly against his pale skin.

"Sebastian," Clary whispered placing a hand on his cheek, "have I ever told you much I love you?"

"Every day." He said back. "And I love you too."

At that moment, it felt as if nothing in the world mattered to Clary besides those amazing grey eyes that you could get lost in by just a simple glance.

"I heard about Lydia," He said in a dazed tone. "good news?"

He said the last part as if it were a question. Clary sighed.

"Yeah, it's good. I just don't want to be all this time apart form her, you know?"

"Yes, but you'll have me." He responded with a smirk.

"And Simon."

His smile faltered a bit at the mention of Clary's best friend.

"Yeah... But you're mine." he responded with a slight growl in his voice.

Now it was Clary's turn to smirk.

"And you're mine." She told him.

He cupped her face in his warm calloused hands and slowly brought their faces together. When Clary felt his warm lips on hers she immediately melted into his embrace. He pushed her against the wall running his hands up and down her sides. She clutched the back of his neck, mindlessly twirling the shorter hairs that were there in-between her fingers. His teeth grazed her bottom lip and she shuddered at the sensation.

Finally he broke the kiss. Clary smiled up at him.

"I love so you so very, very much Sebastian, you know that right?" she asked.

"Of course I do. And I love you more than the world," he responded. An adoring expression on his face.
