Panic washed over him along with his salty sweat.
His thoughts were a mess, and his heart started to beat less.
This was his end, his unforeseen death...
Yet his courage led him to take his last and unrepeatable step...
Escape it, he didn't, after all this dread was his test, his adversity, his misfortune and of course a deadly threat.
It was inevitable, inescapable, incurable and sadly it ended with him taking his last preordained breath.
