Lukas wolf runs through the woods following the sound of howling. Jake's deep rusty-brown wolf wasn't far behind her. They both grow closer to the treaty line before suddenly stopping their paws skidding across the dirt ground. Right in front of their eyes were two wolves. One female wolf with light gray fur and the other male wolf was tall, gangly, sand-colored fur, with oversized paws. The sand-colored wolf was lying on the ground; his back leg was bent at an awkward angle, keeping him from moving. "Seth!" Jake yelled through the mind link between him and Luka, his voice filled with worry. Emmett and Greyson finally come out from the bushes after following Luka and Jake's scent. When the light gray wolf sees them, she snarls, about to lunge forward, but Luka moves between her and them, standing at her full height, making her tower over the other wolf. The fur on Luka's neck sticks up as she growls deeply at the female wolf, making her back off. The light grey wolf lowers her body to make herself seem less of a threat and pulls her tail between her legs in submission.
Once the wolf submitted, a soft female voice enters Luka's head, "Please don't hurt us," pleaded the female voice.
"Leah, what happened?" Jake asked Leah, wondering why they were here and not on the reservation.
"I couldn't stay in Sam's pack, Jake. I can't keep hearing about him and Emily or how he left me. So I left the pack, but before I could leave the reservation, Sam ambushed me, trying to make me submit to him. But I refused him, and he became enraged. He went for my throat, and that's when Seth attacked Sam, but he wasn't strong enough to beat Sam," Leah informed Jake and Luka with fear in her voice. "He snapped Seth's leg right in front of me. If it wasn't for that redheaded vampire showing up on the reservation territory again, I don't think we would have got away," Leah said while nuzzling her Little brother's neck. Rage fills both Luka and Jake at what Sam has done, but caring for Seth was more important. Luka moves to Emmett and softly pulls at his shirt.
"I think they need some clothes, Luv," Greyson said to Emmett, his British accent becoming more prominent. Emmett nods and takes off, heading back to the house. Once Emmett returns, he has clothes with him, and everyone then gets dressed; Luka picks Seth up in her arms. Jake had offered to carry him, but Luka felt that she needed to do this herself. She felt an intense need to protect the young boy in her arms and his sister. Seth is tall, with a gangly build much like his wolf; he also has a youthful face and brown eyes with russet-colored skin and short jet-black hair. Seth looked a lot like a younger version of Jacob. His sister Leah was extremely beautiful in an exotic way. She has perfect copper skin and eyelashes like feather dusters.
Luka carried Seth back to the Cullens home, where Carlisle was waiting. Luka put Seth in her bedroom and held his hand as Carlisle broke his disfigured leg. Seth screams from the excruciating pain, and it echoes throughout the house, making tears fill Luka's eyes, but she refused to cry, needing to be strong for Seth as Carlisle resets the bone, so that it would heal properly. Luka stayed with Seth after Carlisle left and talked with him to distract him from the pain and get to know him better. Leah soon entered the bedroom, "How are you feeling, Seth?" Leah asked her little brother, moving to the side of the bed and sits on it, holding his hand.
"Don't worry Leah, I will be fine, and soon I will be getting on your nerves," Seth answered his sister giving her a big bright smile.
Luka couldn't help but chuckle as she watched them both. Leah looked to Luka and was about to speak when Luka stops her, "I know you want to be apart of my pack. I wasn't thinking of having a pack, but I know what it's like to have no one, and I don't want either of you to feel like that. So I will accept you, but I must ask that you be respectful to the Cullens," she said to Leah and Seth. Leah's face turns sour, "I know you don't like them, Leah. And that's fine, but they didn't have to help Seth or allow you to stay here. But they did because their good people, and all I'm asking is for you to treat them with respect. I'm not like Sam; I will never force you to do something against your will. I will never use my alpha voice on you unless it's necessary. In my pack, you are my family," Luka declared to Leah looking her dead in the eyes. Leah nods her head, and the tension that had been in the room disappears, and Luka smiles at Leah and Seth, "Welcome to the family," Luka says happily to them. Luka, Jacob, and Emmett sat in the living room watching season one of the supernatural, while the bright moonlight comes in from the glass wall.
Later both Emmett and Jake were arguing over who was hotter between Dean and Sam Winchester. When Jake's phone goes off, and he answers it while Luka pauses the show. Jake's face went from happy to extremely worried, "Is Charlie ok?" Jake asked Edward.
"Charlie is fine, that's the strange thing a nomad passing through would have just killed him," Edward explained to Jake over the phone.
"Luka and I are on our way," Jake says to Edward before hanging up and looking to his sister. "Edward caught the scent of a nomad in Bella's house while she was gone. Will you go with me to check it out?" he asked Luka.
"Of course Jake, Bella is practically my sister-in-law," Luka answered Jake before they both left the Cullens house on their motorcycles, hoping that whoever this vampire was that he wouldn't become a problem.
