Luka and Bella were laughing and talking as they walked into the Cullens living room. The news was playing on the tv, talking about the recent killings in Seattle. Jasper, Carlisle, Emmett, and Edward are sitting on the couch watching the tv, none of them looking too happy. "By your faces, I'm guessing these are not normal killings?" Luka asked them.

"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting. Quite a few more, they're undisciplined, conspicuous," Jasper answered, not looking too happy about the subject.

"It's newborns," Edward explained to them all as Bella moved to his side, sitting with him.

"What, like new vampires?" Bella asked Edward, a little confused.

"The first few months after the change," Edward answered.

"That's when we're at our most uncontrollable, vicious, insane with thirst," Jasper explained.

Emmett looks to Bella, "Something to look forward to," he said with a smirk.

"Someone's creating an army," Carlisle said with worry in his voice. The last thing Carlisle wanted was for his family to be pulled into a fight. Emmett jumps off the couch.

"Now we're definitely going to Seattle," Emmett told them, itching for a good fight.

"I don't think that would be smart, Emmett. We don't know how many there are, and it's a lot harder to fight in a city populated with thousands of people and go unnoticed," Luka pointed out, not wanting her family to do anything drastic.

"If we don't put a stop to them, the Volturi will. I'm surprised they let it go on this long," Carlisle explained.

"Maybe they're behind it. In Italy, I read Aro's mind; he wants me and Alice to join him. He knows we'll never choose him as long as our family is still alive," Edward explained.

"An army could solve that for him," Jasper said.

"And there would be no ties to them," Luka said in agreement.

Later Luka sat in her bed, thinking of what Alice told her. She knew it would be wrong not to talk to Rosalie about the imprinting. The blonde beauty had a right to chose if she wanted to be with her, and Luka had no right to decide for Rosalie out of fear of rejection. Building up the courage she needed, Luka left her room to find Rosalie. It didn't take long for Luka to find her on the porch looking out into the woods. Luka couldn't help but stare at Rosalie, amazed by how beautiful she truly was. She desperately wanted to run her fingers through Rosalie's beautiful silky blonde hair. "I can't go anywhere without running into a wolf. It seems," Rosalie said softly, not looking at Luka.

"I know you hate wolves, and me living here can't be easy on you," Luka said as she stood by the door.

Rosalie looks down, "Hate," she whispered softly before looking back out into the woods. "I don't hate you. I don't particularly like wolves, but what I feel for you, Luka is the complete opposite of hate," she admitted still not looking at the she-wolf.

Luka moves closer to Rosalie, "Then why haven't you tried to talk to me?" she asked Rosalie as she leaned against the railing.

For a minute, nothing was said, then Rosalie sighed, "Because I'm scared," she admitted finally looking into Luka's eyes.

"Why?" Luka asked wanting to understand why the idea of them being together could scare this strong independent woman.

Rosalie looks back into the woods, "When I was human, I thought my life was absolutely perfect. There were things I still wanted. To be married with a nice house and a husband who kissed me when he came home. A family of my own. Royce King was the most eligible bachelor in town; I barely knew him. But I was young, and I was in love with the idea of love. On the last night of my life, I left a friend's house late. I wasn't far from home when I ran into Royce and his friends. They were completely drunk, and Royce wouldn't stop touching me. I tried to fight him off, but I couldn't stop him. His friends soon joined in," she explained with heartbreaking pain in her voice. Luka's heart shattered at the sound and rage-filled her, making her wish she could kill the men who hurt her girl. "They left me in the street, thinking I was dead. Believe me; I wanted to be. Carlisle found me, he smelled all the blood, but he thought turning me into this would help me. One good thing did come out of it. I got my revenge on them one at a time. I Saved Royce for last so he would know I was coming. I was a little theatrical back then. Things got better over time, but I'll always be this, frozen, never moving forward. That's what I miss the most, possibilities, sitting on a front porch somewhere, A lover by my side surrounded by our grandchildren, their laughter," Rosalie admitted as her eyes filled with tears that would never fall.

Luka touched Rosalie's cheek, making her turn her head towards her, gently stroking her cheek with her thumb. "If I could go back in time, I would kill those bastards myself. But Rosalie, I'm not Royce. I would never hurt you. He saw you as an object to own and throw away whenever he wanted. Rosalie, you're not an object to me. Your my world, my reason for living," Luka explained confidently looking into her mates eyes.

"Promise?" Rosalie asked as the walls she put around her heart, start to crumble at Luka's words.

"I promise Rosalie that I will never hurt you. I only want to be apart of your world," Luka vowed her voice filled with love.
