Luka and Leah stood in the woods with Sam's pack, all in their wolf forms, not too far from where the Cullens were waiting for the newborn army. Luka nuzzles Leah's neck to help calm her, knowing she is nervous about this fight. She had sent Seth to stay with Bella and Edward, hoping that it would keep him out of the battle. Jacob chose to stay with Bella and Edward through the night but would join the action soon. Luka tried to keep herself calm, wanting to remain strong for her pack, but she couldn't help but worry for Rosalie and the other Cullens. Both Sam and Luka turn their heads in the direction where the Cullens are when they hear a bunch of feet hitting the ground coming their way. Luka looks at Sam and nods, making them both start to walk in that direction with the rest of the wolves. Soon, all the wolves run out of the woods and into the clearing, seeing the Cullens fighting off the newborns. Sam and Luka see that Carlisle and Esme are being swarmed. They both run at full speed jump over the massive boulder in the middle of the battle filled and right into the groups of newborns. Both wolves use their huge frames like a battling ram, sending the newborns flying off Esme and Carlisle. The Cullens and the wolves worked in sync, taking newborns down individually. Luka and Leah see Greyson being held down by two newborns, struggling to escape their grip as his skin starts to crack. Both she-wolves growl and sprint toward the newborns from behind. Before the newborns could comprehend that something was coming from behind them, both Leah and Luka sank their teeth into their shoulders, ripping them off Greyson. They tear through the two newborns in a matter of minutes before running off to find more prey.
Seconds later Jake runs out of the woods, jumping over a fallen tree and biting into a newborn. One newborn climbs over the boulder and jumps in the air to tackle Emmett from behind. Jake jumps, biting into the vampire in midair, bringing them down hard into the ground and ripping them apart. Jasper runs, ripping apart any newborn that comes at him like it is child's play. He sees that a newborn has Jared pinned down and is about to kill him. Jasper runs and jumps, flying over Jared and the newborn, ripping its head clean off. Alice was running with a newborn behind her, but Jasper grabbed him and flung him backward before he could grab her. Luka jumps, catching the newborn and biting it in half, and looks to Jasper, nodding at him before they both take off in different directions. Luka saw that Paul had several newborns on top of him. She was going to help him, but before she could, a newborn came out of nowhere, slamming her fist into Luka's snout, making her head whip sideways. The sound of bone breaking could be heard instantly as Luka whined in pain. She tried to regain her footing, her head in a daze from the punch. Before Luka could turn to fight back, another newborn jumped on her back. It digs their fingers into her flesh, ripping through it like a knife, making Luka whine. She tries to shake the newborn off while dogging another swing from the female newborn. Blood from Luka's back started to drip onto the grass as the newborn on her back grips tighter onto her flesh. For a split second, fear fills Luka, thinking this might be it for her, but at that moment, a blurry vision of a blonde flashes past her sight. The female newborn's head suddenly flew into the air as its body fell to the ground. The other newborn was ripped off Luka's back, and their arms ripped off. Luka looks over at her savior to see Rosalie standing over the newborn. Her eyes were jet black as she seethed with rage. Luka wanted to comfort her imprint, but right now wasn't the time. It didn't take the Cullens and the wolves long to dispose of all the newborns. The Cullens piled the bodies up and set them on fire as Alice had a vision of the Volturi coming. Luka stood by Rosalie in her wolf form as the Blonde ran her fingers through her white silk fur. Edward walked up to his family, holding Bella's hand and looking at Alice, reading her mind. "How long?" he asked.
"A few minutes, maybe ten," she answered.
Carlisle stares into the fire, "The pack needs to leave. Volturi won't honor a truce with the werewolves," he explained looking at Luka. She nods her huge head and goes to find her pack as Jake walks out of the woods, no longer in his wolf form. Leah looks to Jake before turning her head back and seeing a newborn emerge from the woods. She snarls and lunges at the newborn, but she can't latch on to him causing the newborn to gain the upper hand. He wraps his arms around her throat.
"Leah, don't!" Edward yells, running toward her as she whines. Before he could reach her, Luka's massive frame flew past him. Images of Peter and Nathan's dead bodies flash before her eyes, making her snarl. Luka refused to lose Leah as she lost them. She Jumps over Leah, knocking the newborn off her and onto the ground. Luka and the newborn roll around, trying to get a grip on each other, but the newborn ends up on her back. Luka tried to twist her body around to bite the newborn as he lifted her off the ground. The newborn squeezes with all its might and the sound of bones shattering can be heard as a loud whine leaves Luka. The newborn drops her limp body onto the ground. Paul bites into his arm before he can finish her off, yanking him back. Sam jumps over Luka and onto the newborn, ripping him apart. Luka's body had changed back on its own as pain shot through her body. She gasp for air and close her eyes.
"Luka!" Rosalie screamed as she ran to Luka's side as fast as she could. Carlisle and Edward were at Luka's side first.
Carlisle looked over her body, "Luka, just hold on. Carlisle is going to take care of you," Edward promised in a frantic tone as he worried for his sister.
"The bones on the right side of her body are shattered," Carlisle explained as Rosalie made it to her mates side.
Luka opened her eyes, looking up at Rosalie, "Rose," she called out weakly.
"I'm right here," Rosalie whispered while gently running her fingers through Luka's hair to try and comfort her.
Leah ran up with Jake, Sam, and the rest of the boys, "Luka, you idiot, I had it!" She yelled tearfully, her voice filled with worry for her alpha.
"Leah!" Jake yelled making it clear now was not the time.
"We need to set the bones before her accelerated healing kicks in. It's already starting," Carlisle explained.
"We need to get her out of here. We're not going to win a fight with the Volturi," Edward pointed out.
"We'll take her back to the house," Jake said then moved closer to his sister.
Carlisle looks to Jake, "I'll be there as soon as I can," he promised.
"It's going to be ok, Lu, I promise," Rosalie vowed as she softly kissing her mate on the head then steps away. Jake and Sam nod to each other then slowly lift Luka off the ground with the packs help. They lift her above their shoulders as she gasps in pain.
"We got you," Paul said as they carried her away.
