All The Cullens, along with Jake, Leah, Bella, and Seth, sat in the living room, hoping Luka would be okay. Bella rubs Jake's back as his sister's screams echo throughout the house while Carlisle breaks her bones so they will heal properly. Jake grips Edward's hand as tears run down his face at the sound of his sister in pain. Rosalie sat on the couch between Emmett and Greyson as they held her hands, their eyes filled with tears that would never fall. Rosalie didn't believe in God after losing her humanity. Still, she found herself begging him in her mind to help Luka. After a while, Carlisle walks down the stairs, making everyone look over at him. "The worst is over. She'll be all right. I put her on a morphine drip to help with the pain," Carlisle explained, making everyone finally relax. He looks at Rosalie, "She's asking for you," he said.
Rosalie heads up to Luka's room and knocks on the door. "Come in," Luka said, her voice sounding very weak. Rosalie walks in and sees her mate lying in her bed with sweat covering her body, making her brunette hair look almost black. The white gauze covering the right side of Luka's upper body stood out against her copper skin. "I was worried about you," Luka said, looking over at Rosalie as she walked over to the bedside and sat on the side.
"Why were you worried about me?" Rosalie asked while running her fingers through Luka's wet locks.
"Edward has told me how cruel the Volturi are. I was scared something might happen to you with me not there," Luka admitted while closing her eyes. Rosalie smiled and leaned over, kissing Luka softly.
"I'm okay. What matters right now is you getting better," she said, still running her fingers through Luka's hair.
"Oh, trust me, I'll be better soon. I got a hot date with a beautiful blonde," Luka said, smiling at her.
"Oh, really? Should I be worried?" Rosalie asked in a playful tone while looking down at her mate.
"Definitely, she is the bee's knees," Luka proclaimed, making Rosalie laugh at the words. Luka smiled at the sound of Rosalie's laugh, "So what do you say, beautiful? Want to be the bonnie to my Clyde?" she asked jokingly.
"I love you," Rosalie admitted, and she truly meant it. For the first time in Rosalie's life, she had the love she always dreamed about when she was human. It made all the horrible things she went through worth it if it meant she could have this strong, beautiful woman for eternity. Rosalie didn't know that, at that moment, Luka was thinking the same thing.
"I love you," Luka said, not knowing that more trouble would come for her family as new members were born. She will have to choose between standing by Bella or her twin Jake on the Cullen coven's future. Will her choice cause Luka and Rosalie's relationship to split? Or will they make it through this tough time together?
