(I have completely written out Ashley Seaver as a character because she was so irrelevant and boring. Sorry if you liked her."
"All the federal and international agents responsible for tracking him down are now on his list of targets."
Hotch's words echoed in Liz's brain.
She didn't know if she counted- Ian Doyle didn't know of her existence.
She didn't help track him down, she'd just planned the operation. But didn't that count as tracking him down?
"I got 5 names on the bottom of the list Prentiss gave us. Luke Renault, Lawrence Riley, Lila Rafferty, Lyle Rogers and Lavinia Rose. All with the initials LR."
"The CIA uses cryptograms like that to assign to non-official cover agents working the same case."
"This isn't right." Garcia snatched the piece of paper from Morgan. "Do you see this space? That shouldn't be here. This is a spreadsheet template. Formatting doesn't allow this. There's a missing name on here."
"Lauren Reynolds is dead." Spencer mumbled. "Prentiss said that on a phonecall 17 days ago. But her intonation wasn't surprise or grief. It was like a mantra, like she was reminding herself. Lauren Reynolds, LR. If Prentiss is the last name on that Liz, then she's on Doyle's list too."
"Then so am I." Liz blurted.
"What?" Spencer turned to her, confusion written all over his face.
"Lavinia Rose wasn't a cover agent." She spoke. Everyone's eyes fell on her. Hotch's, Morgan's, Spencer's, Garcia's and Rossi's. Their eyebrows were furrowed in confusion. "Years ago, I did my trial with the BAU and I did a trial for Interpol, both were offering me jobs at the time. My trial for Interpol was to plan an undercover operation, but I wouldn't know the woman who was actually executing the plan, for my safety. I chose Lavinia Rose as an alias. If he knows Em was Lauren then there's a chance he'll know I was Lavinia, but there's no indication. He never saw me or anything."
"That's why you've been stressed." Spencer rubbed his temples. "Changing passwords, security on your office door, ripping your lip. You've been carrying 3 guns ever since you gave birth. One on your hip, another on your ankle. Where's the third one?"
"In my bra." Liz murmured, ashamed.
"Guys." Hotch called, Emily's badge and gun in his hands.
"She left her badge and gun? Why would she do that? That doesn't make sense. Why run? We're her family. We can help."
"Doyle's killing families. She's not married, not close to relatives. He was ready to wipe us out. She ran to protect us." Rossi ranted. "She's a trained spy. She doesn't want to be found. She knows all of our tricks. We don't know any of her and Liz's. Liz, help us."
"I'm not using her tricks against her, knowing Emily she won't even use those tricks because I know them. Hell, I taught her. Ian Doyle is our unsub, Emily Prentiss is our" She paused. "victim. We profile this like any other case."
"Because terrorism isn't an area we specialize in and Emily won't use tricks Elizabeth has taught her, I've reached out to an expert from the state department."
"Who?"
"Her." Hotch nodded in the direction of the entrance.
JJ stood, bag in hand. "Let's get to work."
-----
"Elizabeth, you need to tell us everything you know from that operation."
"Em assumed the identity of Lauren Reynolds as part of a special task force called JTF-12."
