Another case had been solved by the BAU and the team were grabbing their things and leaving the office. Liz had done her fair share of teasing Garcia about her date with a certain man.

Spencer had decided not to ask Liz about the Matthew situation yet, but he decided to ask her something else that night.

The couple sat at the dining table, silently reading until Spencer got up, grabbing something before plopping a box down onto the table. "Monopoly?" Liz deadpanned, eyebrows raised.

"Play Monopoly with me." He smiled. Liz nodded, opening the box and laying the board out while Spencer gave each of them the correct amount of money. "I'll be the dog!" She called out, grabbing the dog.

Spencer shook his head, chuckling at the pout on Liz's face. "I think I'll have something you'll like more than the dog. Close your eyes."

"I doubt it, but okay. Please don't kill me." She smiled anxiously, eyes screwed shut. Spencer walked over to her side of the table, bending down and resting on one knee as he clutched the velvet box in his hands. "Open your eyes." He slowly opened the box as she opened her eyes, revealing the ring.

It had a thin rose gold band studded with tiny diamonds, not too blingy for a band. The rock in the center was a real show stopper. It was big, but now overbearing big. The emerald cut diamond was the perfect shape and size.

Liz opened her mouth to speak, but wasn't able to say anything.

"Don't say anything yet." Spencer pleaded. "I remember meeting you years ago for the first time, only knowing what people said about you and they said a lot. Everyone talked about how smart you were, how much you'd achieved at such a young age, how desirable you were and I have to admit, I saw you as big competition and I was kind of envious." The pair giggled. "But then I met you and you were the nicest person, and probably the only person who really took me seriously. I'm not going to say it was love at first sight, but I thought you were amazing. And then we got together and I just knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. So if this goes well and you say yes, I promise one day you'll meet me at the altar in a white dress. Here goes nothing.

Will you, Elizabeth Ann Bundy, marry me?"

Tears were flowing out of Liz's eyes as she attempted to smile. "Are you sure?"

"I just gave a speech and asked you to marry me and the first thing you asked is if I'm sure?" Spencer deadpanned, earning a giggle from the woman in front of him. "I need to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into unlike your four previous proposals."

"I know what I'm getting myself into. Yes or no because my knee is starting to hurt."

Liz pretended to think for a minute before slowly nodding. "Yes, Penny, I'll marry you." Spencer cheered, placing the box on the dining table before picking Liz up, spinning her around in the air. He put her down, slipping the ring on her finger and relishing at how it fit perfectly, like a glove. He kissed the ring, leaning down to kiss her afterwards.

"Well I guess your title is no longer future soon-to-be Mrs. Reid. You've been promoted to soon-to-be Mrs. Reid."

"What a difference dropping one word could make."

The grins on their faces couldn't leave, even if they wanted to.

The couple sunk into the sofa, their lips locked and arms wrapped around each other, their bubble of happiness and bliss bursting at the sharp sound of Liz's ringtone. They ignored it, hoping it would go away and come back another day, but by the seventh ring Spencer grabbed the phone and tossed it to Liz as she groaned. "Elizabeth Bundy, here." She answered, eyeing Spencer.
