Telling Diana of her son's whereabouts was a painful experience for Liz, but she felt a sense of relief when the older woman didn't remember later. Her request to take time off until Spencer comes home was approved by Cruz, meaning she could focus all her time on her mother in law, the kids, and working Spencer's case while assembling a team of lawyers.
Once again she approached metal bars, a small smile meeting her lips when she saw him sleeping until he shot up, looking confused. "You should be at the office."
She shook her head. "I'm taking some time off. I'm right where I need to be. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay. How's mom doing?"
"She's doing well. I explained everything, Cassie's been great. That makes a big difference."
The look of guilt on Spencer's face was like a pang to her heart. "I'm such an idiot."
"Don't say that, okay? Sweetheart, you were trying to help her."
"I fell right into Scratch's trap."
"He won't win." She quipped.
"He already has."
Grabbing his hand as best as she could, Liz pursed her lips. "Just the battle, not the war. You didn't do anything wrong."
He wasn't so quick to agree. "You and I both know that doesn't matter. All that matters is what the prosecutor can prove, and Scratch has stacked the deck against me. Even the FBI's abandoned me."
"I know, but we'll keep fighting. Penny, if you want, I'll represent you, okay? Or I could ask an old friend, or anyone you want. Just ask and you'll receive."
"I want you."
She nodded. "Okay. I'll get some people I know, assemble a team and we'll get to work. I'll get the best of the best."
"Thank you."
"Baby, listen to me. We are going to get you out of here. I promise, and I don't care what it takes. If I have to play dirty in that courtroom, I will."

The office of Pearson Specter Litt had managed to maintain it's modern interior well since the last time Liz was there nearly 14 years ago, a mere 20 year old hotshot lawyer who never lost a case. She took long strides towards the reception, the clicking of her heels echoing throughout the space as the woman behind the desk was the exact as it was all those years ago.
She smiled warmly at the woman. "Hi, Gretchen. It's good to see you."
"My, my. You just look younger everyday, don't you? You're here to see Harvey?" Liz nodded. "Just go right through."
Doing as she was told and gliding through the office as if it were still muscle memory, she briefly paused by the office that was once hers. The door that once read 'Elizabeth Bundy' was now belonging to a Jeff Malone. Sucking in a deep breath, she advanced 7 more steps, disappointed to see Donna's desk empty before entering Harvey Specter's office.
He didn't even look up at her, but it was clear he knew someone entered his office. "Donna! I told you to tell people to knock and warn me before!"
"Donna's not outside. She's gone for lunch. Would you like to join me for lunch?"
The look on his face was priceless when their eyes met. "What do you want lunch for?"
"I need your help."
Half an hour later, Harvey, Liz, Mike Ross and his girlfriend Rachel Zane who was currently attending Columbia law school while working with the firm as a paralegal, all sat at a table, picking at their respective foods. "The BAU got a case a while ago. This guy uses a load of drugs to get people to kill for him. Well he broke out of jail recently, and now he's really here to bite me in the ass." She let out a humorless chuckle. "My husband was in Mexico getting meds for my mother in law, and now he's being framed for murder. He doesn't remember anything. Please help me out here, I need a fucking squad of law geniuses." As she was on the verge of tears, Harvey rubbed her back, looking towards his colleagues.
