Everything moved in slow motion when she felt herself being pushed to the ground, a pair of claws attempting to rip her shirt. It succeeded, a tear forming at the hem. She was fearing her life. "Spencer, please." She sobbed, awaiting the painful impact that never came.

She kept waiting for the feeling of her skin being ripped open but the pain never came.

All she could hear were her muffled cries and sobs for Spencer, and a gunshot.

The gunshot rung in her ears as she watched the dog fall limp beside her.

JJ pulled Liz up, pulling her in for an embrace. "I'm sorry." The blonde spoke, her head buried in the girl's shoulder. "It's okay, Jenny. Don't be sorry, we're okay. Where's Spencer?"

"I don't know."

The door bust open and Liz was quick to act, pulling her gun up. "FBI! Don't move!" She screamed, the flashlights being pointed at her made her wince.

"Liz, it's me. It's Morgan. It's Morgan and Prentiss. Don't shoot." The girl slowly put the gun down. Morgan and Prentiss took the time to observe their disheveled appearance. JJ's hair was knotted, and her skin was littered in dirt.

Liz looked a lot worse. The hem of her white shirt was ripped, her entire body covered in dirt. Her hair was matted and messy. Blood stains were splotched all over the fabric that covered her torso, mixing with the dirt and grime. The blood wasn't hers, thank god.

"Tobias Hankle is the unsub."

"Yeah, we know. We're calling an ambulance."

"We just thought he was a witness. Lizzy and I had to kill the dogs." Their eyes traveled to the dead dogs that rested on the floor. "Where's Reid?"

"They were about to tear Lizzy apart, I just..."

"Calm down. Where's Reid?" Emily spoke.

"We split up. He said he was going in the back." Liz had finally stopped trembling, her words were finally steady.

Her and JJ were sat at the back of an ambulance. JJ had finished her checkup, and the brunette was getting tired of the attention. "I'm feeling fine, are we fucking done?"

Emily approached the man who was tending to Liz. "Any sign of him?" Emily spoke.

"We got every one of our units on the road. He won't make it far. Yes, ma'am, we're done." The man replied. Liz's mouth opened slightly at the response. "You can't find Spencer?"

"Not yet."

Hotch approached the group, spotting Liz and letting out a sigh of relief before engulfing her in a tight embrace, kissing her cheek. "Thank god you're okay." He muttered.

"Yeah, but Spencer isn't."

Liz had been sat in Tobias Hankle's house all night, reading every journal he wrote. Morning had come and she sat in the room with Morgan, Hotch, Gideon and a police officer.

"Elizabeth, you haven't slept in days. Get some rest." Hotch's voice was soft as he placed his hand on top of hers. She jumped slightly at the contact. "No. Not until we find Spencer."

"At least shower." Gideon placed a hand on her shoulder, also making her jump. "Spencer wouldn't want you to be like this."

"How do you know what Spencer would want?" Liz spoke. It was true, he wouldn't want her like this. She was still covered in dirt and blood. Her ripped shirt was creased, her hair was tangled and matted. Tears stained her cheeks. "You're not going to figure out anything like this." Morgan pleaded.
