The next morning a bell from my front door awoke me from my sleep, then my alarm began to ring causing me to jolt upwards and get out of the bed. Not realizing what I cradling in my arms and up to my chest.
Swinging my legs over my bed, I slipped my bedroom slippers back onto my dainty feet and got up dragging them lazily to my bedroom door, through the halls and downstairs.
I got to my front door and stood in front of it, scratching my messy bed hair. I got onto my tippy-toes to reach the peephole in the door to find no one on the other side of the door.
"What?" I whispered to myself groggily in disbelief.
I gave out a soft sniffle and unlocked my front door to reveal nothing but a sleek narrow white box with the edge of a piece of paper sticking out of it.
I wiped my eyes to check and see if I were hallucinating the door bell. Wasn't I supposed to sign a paper saying that I got it or something like that?
I put one foot out of the doorway and leaned forward, checking both east and west if this were some kind of prank or special gift from one of my mother's fans again.
Blinking, I stepped back into my home and bent down to retrieve the box. I searched the box through and through before giving in and finally closing the door.
I walked over to the kitchen counter and perched myself upon one of the chairs. I set down the box on the shiny wooden counter and popped the cap open. As expected the first thing I saw was a neatly written note. Judging by the appearance of the black fur on the inside of the box, it seemed to be a necklace.
Think back to what Amaya said, I jumped.
"When me and him first had you, he had given you something that's really important."
This could've been the gift my father had given me so long ago..
A wide grin was paltered on to my face and my cheeks warmed at the thought. I could finally be connected with my dad through some way!
I lifted the note up close to my eyes since my glasses were on and read it with pure excitement.
It read;
" My dear Haruka, you do not understand how much joy you've brought into my life. Please take this necklace as a gift and remember;
'Once true beauty shows, The Heart's Egg inside of you glows. ' -Papa "
I blinked in confused, staring harder at the the quote at the very end.
What's a 'Heart's Egg'?
Nevertheless, I grazed my fingers over the words in cursive that MY very own father wrote to me. One thing I did remember about him was that he was indeed very prestigious and busy.
In fact, there wasn't a time in my life that I remember when my parents weren't wealthy.
Setting the note onto the table, I closed my eyes, prepping myself for the necklace that sat before me. A millennium worth of ideas swirled throughout my mind.
What if it's sequined with beautiful jewels, or even better.. Crafted with the physique of an old Egyptian Queen?
My face was heating up at the thought, I couldn't take it any longer!
I dramatically opened my eyes wide to find..
A brown rusty key laying embedded in a black box, it looked like it could've once been beautiful but all of the beautifully crafted silver-brown. All of the carefully put diamonds- dull.
The only prominent thing that seemed worthwhile was in the center of the key's bow where a slightly dull but shining diamond was, in the shape of a lucky 4 leafed clover.
My shoulders dropped in disappointment, this hunk of junk is supposed to keep me connected with father?
Hesitantly, I went to go pick up the rusty key and lifted it to my face. Evidently, the only thing pretty about the necklace was the glittering silver chain that it was attached to.
I gulped, it didn't appear anymore attractive up close as it did far away.
A groan left my lips as I slid myself off my chair and back onto my feet- or well, slippered feet. Clutching my key necklace hard with my free hand.
Why Papa..?
I walked up the stairs and stomped into my bedroom, jumping on to my disheveled bed in frustration. Burying my head into my fluffy pillows, I gave a loud groan and turned my body over on my backside.
"Why does nothing ever go my way?" I spoke out loud, louder than I have ever spoke in the last month.
"I can never have any expectations for anything- I think I'm perfect but it turns out that I'm anything but perfect."
My lips creased into a frown- on the brink of tears, but my body soon warmed up when, I felt something slight warm wiggle from under me.
Almost instantly, the hard look on my face softened into a straight one. And then the idea shot into my mind;
What is wiggling under me?
I quickly shot up on to my feet and spun around in one swift move.
My face went pale at the sight.
"I HAVE EGGS?!"
