CHAPTER EIGHT : HE WHO CONTROLS THE MIND

The car pulled up into the long, winded drive way which showed the mansion on full display. From the front, it seemed old and unfit for a school, however it was most definitely fit once you looked from the inside.

"I've read so much about this place." Moira exclaimed from the back of the car with Alex. "But being here, it actually seems kind of ... familiar. It's strange."

Charles looked from his house to Evie, his gaze looking over his sunglasses and showing his slight panic. The woman chuckled and shrugged her shoulders, "Don't look at me." She remarked at him.

"It could be quite." Charles cleared his throat and looked back to the school. "Shall we?"

After helping Charles out of the car and into the house, he gave a quick tour of the entry way before searching for Hank. By the time they had reached the Professor's office, they were in the middle of a conversation.

"Hank, you in here?" Charles questioned as he wheeled his way in. When he saw the man, he quickly continued. "I'd like you to meet the ..." He trailed off at the sight of his sister, standing there next to Hank.

Raven smiled as she greeted the CIA agent. "Moira."

"Raven?" Charles asked in disbelief, wondering if this was real.

Moira furrowed her brows at the unfamiliar face. "I'm sorry, have we met?"

Evie took a deep breath, her mind running at a million miles per second at the sight of the blonde. However, it seemed that her husband's mind worked faster. "Evie, Hank, Alex, Agent MacTaggart, would you give us just one moment please?"

"Sure." Evie agreed, squeezing his shoulder in reassurance. "Come on Moira, we'll take you on a tour."

Yet they didn't get her a tour. They simply waited in the foyer for Charles and Raven to finish speaking. A wave on anxiety and uncertainty washed over the group with Moira just admiring the architect, unaware of the deep rooted sides that were beginning to wash over them.

Alex had been observing Evie this entire time and came to the conclusion, "You're worried."

Evie stopped bouncing her leg and glanced to him briefly. "Question or statement?" She asked.

"Statement, I know you too well." Alex responded which made her chuckle lightly. "What's bothering you?"

The brunette sighed, running her hand through her hair to try and ease some of her tension. "Raven hasn't been in contact with her brother in over ten years, why is she showing up now?" She tried to articulate her thoughts to Alex.

Alex lulled over the information and agreed, "I guess it's a serious problem."

"That's what I'm worried about." Evie murmured, worry starting to boil over.
