"Morning Shibisu."
Khun chirpily greeted his employee as he walked past him, entering his office. He hummed as he set up his desk for the day until he noticed Shibisu suspiciously watching him from the door.
"What?"
"Nothing.... you're just unusually chipper this morning."
"Is there a problem with me being in a good mood?"
"Not at all..... Just wondering if something good happened."
Shrugging it off, Khun carried on as normal.
"Nothing in particular. Hey Shibisu, can you get me a vase or something?"
"A vase?"
Incredulous, Shibisu questioned his need for one.
"I was given this flower this morning, I want to put it in some water."
He lifted the single rose from his desk to show Shibisu.
"Eh? Why did someone give you a flower?"
Approaching closer, Shibisu inspected the flower before trying to take it from Khun's hands.
"Hey! You can look, but you can't touch. It was given to me as an apology."
"Sorry... I didn't expect you to be so territorial over a flower! I'll see if we have anything."
He disappeared as Khun continued to set himself up. A few minutes later he reappeared.
"You're in luck! I stole it from a meeting room."
Proudly announcing his stolen goods, Shibisu brought the vase over to Khun's desk, placing it down in a free spot. Khun gently placed the rose into the vase that was far too big for a single flower.
The two admired the beauty of the flower.
"What do you think the name of this flower is?"
Gazing at the pinkish purple petals, he voiced his intrigue out loud.
"Khun... it's a rose.... surely you know that...."
"I'm not an idiot, Isu. But they all have different colours and meanings. I just wondered what the meaning of this flower is."
"Oooooh, right, gotcha. Yeah, I have no idea, maybe you should ask a florist."
Shibisu suggested this idea to be kind, not realising it was the florist himself keeping the answer secret.
"Ah, Khun, I also got a message from your mother about the engagement party on Saturday. I've sent her a list of business contacts that should be invited but was there anyone else?"
"Urgh, Shibisu. Why do you always know exactly what to say to put me in a bad mood?"
"I'm...sorry?"
Startled by the sudden personality swap, Shibisu feigned apology.
"Yeah, I'll sort it and send you any one I can think of."
Waving Shibisu from the room, Khuns attention rested on the flower in the vase, instantly his bad mood vanished.
For the rest of the day, as Khun tapped away on his laptop, his eyes would every so often drift to the single rose standing on his desk. He would smile softly every time he saw it.
That night, Khun finished late, upon passing the florists shop, the lights were all out and there was no hope of him catching a glimpse of Bam. Disappointed, he continued his journey home.
