Been A While

Eddie and I got back together, I know how much his job means to him so I forgave him. It doesn't mean I'll forget it. We dated for a month in a half now and it still felt like I barely knew Eddie... Though maybe that's how I liked it. On another note, Peter had been absent a lot more lately... I know he thinks no one notices but I do. I noticed it during school and I notice it now. Whenever I did see him, he looked exhausted. I watch him leave out the door one morning and Eddie studies me. I look at him, "What?"

"... I don't know... You just seem to be eyeing Pete a lot."

I scoff, "I'm just... Analyzing... I do that to strangers on the street too."

Eddie nods, hiding his thoughts and emotions extremely well. He's always been able to usually. Not to mention asked about Peter a lot. "Hey... Would you want to move in with me?"

My mouth drops, "Whoa, Eddie, I don't know."

He looks at me as if he's testing me, "Why not."

"I'm... Just not ready yet...'

He says nothing and looks off in the distance.

On the news, I watched a video of Spider-man stopping a car from crashing into a truck, now I don't usually watch videos of Spider-man... I don't know why I felt the urge to but... Something about him felt familiar. When he saved me at the arcade those months back, I didn't even pay attention because I was in such a state of shock. Looking back now... He felt just... Familiar.

Eddie came into the room, looking distraught... I turn the TV off, "What happened?" I ask. He heaves, "I lost my job."

"What??!! Why???"

"Couldn't make our shipments Spider-Man proof. I've never seen Osborn so upset, and he's taking it out on me! It's not my fault the stupid webslinger wants to butt in!"

Peter comes home and is about to enter his room when I call, "Hey, Peter, are you free tonight?"

Peter looked at me and flashed his sweet smile, "I can make myself free... What's happening?"

"I was thinking we could invite Ned, Dani, and her new girlfriend to our apartment tonight. Just to catch up."

Peter thought and then nodded, "I'll get the food for tonight."

"I'll get the wine." Eddie says, interjecting.

Peter left to his room.

I turn to Eddie, "I'm... Excited." I say, not realizing how much I missed hanging out with the whole crew. Obviously, Dani and I have hung out on our own but this was the first time I would meet her girlfriend. I decorated for the party with Eddie, throwing some streamers around the ceiling and having some come all the way back down to the floor, we achieved this through tape. When we finished decorating, Eddie wrapped his arms around me from behind and looked around the apartment with me. Wine glasses sat on the coffee table with an elegant and old wine bottle in the center. I had already made a chill playlist and played my music from the TV. Peter came through the door, he had bags of snack food that would work as dinner. He sets it up on the kitchen counter while Eddie greets him, I couldn't hear what Eddie said but I heard Peter: "Oh! Nonono, not at all." He awkwardly laughed, and held a hand up defensively.

"Alright, I trust you man." Eddie said with a grin and a tilt of his head before coming back over to me. He kisses my forehead, I look at Peter who was focusing maybe too much on the food setup.
