[Qhawe]
Rejection hits harder when all you want is to correct your mistake, the past few days hasn't been ideal, the thought of the child i have not wanting me in her life brought me chest pains, Lwethu was old enough to make her decision but that didn't mean i wouldn't do right by her, as an african i knew the steps to say which.

"She is ready to see you "a message from Mbali said making my smile grew larger, i knew we had a long way to go but a start would do for now.

"New women" i raised my head up high looking at Nqobile, she had a bottle of beer on hand ,she raised her eyebrow curiously.

"Maybe , i have to go " i stood up avoiding any questions knowing how noisy she and Qhawekazi were.

"Ditching us for a women really you so not loyal" Mqobi said i shook my head at that he chuckled.

"She is worth it ,trust me when you meet her you'll love her" i said , i might be close with my twins but i hadn't share anything with them regarding Lwethu only my parents knew, at this point it was still early stages and i wanted to bond with her without any distractions like them, every weekend on the month end to make up for our busy schedule we met up to catch up, plus now things had extremely changed this year, Nqobile was married, Nqobi was engaged but he was the one i see almost every day since me and him were sharing an apartment. My happiness was clearly visible on my face as i whistled half running to the car , the distance didn't matter.

"Oh Qhawe i didn't know you would be here" Nqobile said pulling a chair and sat down , i looked at them pretending.

"Really and coincidentally you all apear in this place across the town" i folded my arms and raised the eyebrow, i could feel how uncomfortable Lwethu was it was the first time i spent with her and we were getting to know each other until these idiots decided to follow me.

"It was Nqobile's idea"Manqoba said i shook my head ofcause they would say that ,the eyes were now on our table because of everyone standing besides us, they all dragged chairs and sat where we were, they looked at me expectantly.

"Remember when i came to you wanting to do a DNA test ,i lied its not for a client" i said to Qhawekazi, she took a minute before what i said registered.

"So the DNA test were yours and ..."i nodded my head in agreement " so am a Aunt ohh how old is this cutie" she said.

"13" Lwethu said.

"12" i responded correcting her.

"13"her

"12"me

"12 and half " she said yet again making the table fill with laughter.

"And that doesn't necessarily mean you 13 the point is you 12 years" i shrugged she shook her head.

[Mbalenhle]
The whole month i had done some thinking,my life wasn't where i wanted it to be and i knew only i had that power to improve my life, its been 3 months since I've been trying to apply for a proper job and i knew that with my criminal record it was impossible, after the visit to Sasa i promised myself that i would improve my life,i promised myself I'll fight for a better future for me and Lwethu and my mother even if it took me years i would.

"Hey"  Asanda said as she walked into the room, i pushed the book on the bed away from me,she had Senzo on her hip.

"Hey" i responded making space for her, Senzo was asleep on her lap and Sindiswa was doing the washing outside "how are you really" i asked she gave me a tight smile.

"Am fine Mamncane don't worry about me I've made peace with the mother i have"(Aunt) she said looking at the book on the bed " what's this" she asked.

"Oh am doing a business plan , i was thinking of going to the nyda or approaching a bank for a business loan start a small business, let me not bore you with anything what did you want " i ask, yes I've decided to start my business hopefully my criminal record doesn't get in a way, i was hopeful on this.

"I was thinking, i know gogo won't agree so can you talk to her so i can sleep on a friends house tonight"she asked i raised my eyebrow.

"And does the friend happen to be a male" i asked "be honest with me Asanda"i said she dropped her head in shame.

"Yeah" she answered silently luckily i heard her.

"Look Asanda i don't have problem with you dating,I've been there to so i won't stop you but remember this you 15 and some things need to wait" i took a deep breath "have you started having sex" i ask knowing ma never gave them the sex talk she shook her head in disagreement.

"Good, do whatever you want i don't have a problem with that but baby girl can we wait few years atleast until varsity"i said she gave me a smile before nodding, the loud noise outside made made me stand up, i walked to the outside with Asanda following me.

"Ucabanga ukuthi uzobaleka nengane yam Sindiswa, ujwayela mina kabi la"(you think you can run away with my child) The man standing besides Sindiswa said ,Sindiswa looked scared as hell "siyajwayelana Sindiswa"he said before the loud slap made sound that i literally flinched too like i felt it too, i bravely walked to them.

"You not going to beat my Sister in front if me,Cel'hambe ekhaya"(please leave) i said bravely he turned looking at me.

"Awungeni ndawu wena phuma kwindaba ezingakufuni"(this doesn't involve you stay away from this) at this moment ma had woken up from her nap, she came to where we stood and pushed the man away from us.

"Kwami, ushaya ingane yami kwam"(in my house, you beating my child in my house) my mother said, her weight was reducing every day.

"Mama please don't include yourself on things that don't concern you" he said disrespectfully , i looked at Sindiswa waiting for her to talk but she kept quite letting the man disrespect my mother.

"Why don't you pick on people your age instead of beating up women" Qhawe said with his hands in his pockets , Lwethu had the hands full of the paper bag.

"Ungenaphi wena"(where does it concern you) the man said angrily.

"Leaving this yard will be best for you and everyone before one of us gets hurt" he said.

"Are you threathening me" the man said charging to Qhawe holding the collars of his shirt "do you know who i am mfana" the man said.

"Take it the way you feel like it, who or where you are i don't give a shit about that, right now am trying to keep my cool and i don't want to lose my temper because you'll get hurt mfana, as i said leave this place before something happens" he said , his hands not leaving his pockets even when the man held his collar roughly, its suprising how his voice held command yet so calm, he took of his hands from his pockets and wrapped the on the mans before gently pushing him away and rubbing his nose with his index finger.

"Its not over , and wena Sindiswa i want my child"(you) he said walking in reverse going to his car.
