I walked downstairs after dressing up. Yung nabili kong gown noon ang isinuot ko,I can't call it old enough because I only wore it when I tried it to see if it fits.Pio was the witness, pati yung kapatid niya.
"Wow,ikaw ba 'yan?" Pagbibiro na naman niya, aktong hahawak na siya sa dibdib niya ng itinaas niya ang kamay at mismong susuntukin ko na sana.
"Kalma sis, hindi naman kita inaano. You just look so pretty with that gown. Imported na naman ano? Tama? And we're having an acquaintance party not a death anniversary"
"Baka sa'yo ang libing" I stared at myself at the mirror once again,it's perfection. Pati ang earrings ko na silver and my stilletoes too. My hair was on a half curl and the baby hair was turned to circles surrounding the shining clips as the tie.
"Walang iyakan ha,besides iiyak naman siguro lahat pag nawala 'yong nag-iisang prinsipe sa mundo " taas noong agap niya,I only meant it as a joke and he doesn't take that serious so,I didn't bother to answer.
I looked back at Ree also wearing his black tuxedo and slacks together with his shoes, the one he bought when he told me he can't come with me at the mall. Nagsarili yata'ng pumunta sa kung saan. His hair was paved at one side leaving half of the strands back.
"Ready to go? It's 6:25... at its earliest" he queried that made me nod.
We stood in front of the suv wondering who's going to drive.Still would be me though, even if I wore with me this pitfall gown. This would actually go labyrinth.
"Someone has to catch the culprit, and that someone is me." he took a sign.
"I think you really need to practice, especially when it comes to these kind of times"
"Let there be no more excuses sis, come aboard! Get ready to explore!... just kidding" he signaled while glancing at me chanting an oldie song when we were kids.
He went to the driver's door which made me shook. My head drifted back a bit,Is this boy planning to drive us there?
"Y-you drive huh?" Sa pinaka sarkastikong tono'ng pananalita ko.
"I didn't say anything, just opening the door as a sign of chivalry,My lady..." he bowed .When did he learned this? Goodness,it almost surprised me,such a gentleman. "How sweet" I gave him a small smile.
"A smile doesn't make me feel worthy" his gesture lately faded, speaking of.
"What do you want to know again? Make sure it's pleasant" I sat down the driver's seat and buckled up as my other hand laid my gown in an appropriate position. It won't be interlaced when I'll do it gently."Just about date life of yours-"
"You almost made me wonder that you're into driving a while ago" paninira ko sa paksa,I know he's going to question me about Pio and I,I won't let him do that."I haven't even gone to driving lessons" he shrugged and sat on the shotgun seat.
"You would do better than me when I was your age"
"Uh huh...and by the way,I was at urge about asking why you don't respond to my texts a few hours ago when you're away"
"Oh yeah,I forgot to tell you I resettled everything about my phone cause I got a new one" without glancing at him,I continued to handle the steering wheel and showed the phone to him a bit so that he could see."Ikaw? Why didn't you reply to my texts? Change of number?"
"Actually, kumuha din ako ng bago... hehe" he made me give a look at it,It was okay though.I know too that he'd have a convenient reason enough for him to buy a new one. "I see...It's good"
