Two years ago.
"Awe come on, Noceda! Surely someone must catch your eye!"
15 year old Luz shook her head as she giggled, "Face it, Justin. I just don't see myself with anyone at the moment."
Justin scoffed, "Oh yeah, and I'm straight."
Luz laughed a bit as she walked outside to her backyard with Justin following. "Okay, how about Max? He's been trying to catch your attention!" Justin beamed. Luz shook her head, "Hard pass, he's one of those popular 'f' boys." Justin pouted, "Fine fine."
"Oo, okay okay. I know EXACTLY who would be a perfect match for you!" Justin beamed excitedly. Luz sat down on the grass as Justin did the same, "Who?"
"Susie! She's been DYING to catch your attention! Haven't you seen the way she goes into gay panic mode around you?" Justin said.
Luz shook her head, "For the last time, I'm okay with being by myself." Justin facepalmed a bit, "Let me guess. You're still thinking about the girl." Luz's eyes widen, "What-"
"What's her name again? Amy?" Justin asked as he went into a thinking pose.
"It's Amity. And..maybe." Luz sighed a bit as she hugged her knees. "Noceda, I believe you with you kissing someone..kinda. But, we've never seen an Amity in real life! Are you sure this wasn't a dream?" Justin asked. "She's real as they get. She's just from another realm..I've told you this!" Luz said.
"Okay okay...But are you sure-"
"Justin, no!" Luz laughed, "I don't see myself with anyone at the moment." Justin pouted, "Fine..Although I do have a question."
"Shoot." Luz said. "Are you sure that Amity girl doesn't have a crush on you? I mean, you made it very descriptive that she does." Justin said. Luz sighed a bit, "Can I be honest with you,Justin?"
Justin nodded. Luz stood up, making Justin do the same. "I think..I think she does." Luz said. Justin paused for a minute, "Oh wow."
As they made their way into the house and Luz's room, Luz pulled out a mini strip of ripped paper.
Luz,
"So, if you think she likes you and you can't stop thinking about her..Why not try?" Justin asked. Luz sighed as she looked at the paper, "It's no use..There's no point in trying. Either way, I have to stay here." Justin looked at her confused, "I'm...explain please."
Luz looked at him, "Let me put it like this.." Luz looked back at the paper,
"I notice how she looks at me
But I pretend that I don't see
It's easier if I let the tension subside"
Luz grabbed one of her books that were on her bed as she skimmed through it,
